Turn thread - 380 AD Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

Diplomacy

CoD have sent a World Map preaccepted.

Northern part of the empire

Things built

  • Castle Anthrax finished a Settler.
  • Chateau de Loimbard finished a Granary.
  • Cave of Caerbannog finished a Temple
I see, that my comment about completely useless Mines near Sexy Lumberjacks and Port Avalon, was ignored. Why?

We have over 200 Gold now. Either we start rushing structures, or we keep upgrading Spears to Musketeers (8 upgrades to do at home).

New build assignments (proposal):
  • Castle Anthrax: Settler.
  • Chateau de Loimbard: Longbowman. As an active home defender.
  • Cave of Caerbannog: ???. A Marketplace, I think. Or units - whichever we find more importand.
  • Holy Grail: switch from Aqueduct to Granary, or other builds. The city won't be able to grow past size 6 for a looong time (probably until Railorads).

New citizen assignments (MM proposal. Numpad movement directions used. I really hate not being able to save this. ):
  • Gorge of Eternal Peril. Citizen from 1 to 7, citizen from 2 to 63. Making way for other cities, without hurting Gorge's production.
  • Cave of Caerbannog. Citizen from 23 to 8, citizen from 7 to 2. Again, making way for other cities.
  • Camelot. Taxman to 96, increasing production. Citizen from 77 to 63, increasing trade, and making way for other cities. With these changes, Camelot builds a Market, and grows in 5 turns.
  • Tim's Peak. Citizen from 9 to 8, adding 1fpt.
  • Castle Aaaagh. Citizen from 74 to 99, making way for other cities, without hurting the production here.
  • Tintagel. Any citizen from the coast to 98, adding 2spt. This allows the Aqueduct to be ready sooner.

New worker assignments (proposal):
  • Two partially moved Workers currently at Castle Anthrax 3: Irrigate Bonus Grassland at Gorge of Eternal Peril 4. The city will need MM next turn, to build the Aqueduct and grow in 5 turns.
  • The unmoved Workers currently at Castle Anthrax 3: Chop Forest at Castle Anthrax 41 (takes 3 turns). We'll have to switch Castle Anthrax to a Wonder temporarily, to direct the Chop. It will fit perfectly the build orders of either Dark Forest of Ewing, or Castle Aaaagh.
  • Two Workers currently at Camelot 9: Irrigate Bonus Grassland at Cave of Caerbannog 4. Slower Musketeers, but faster growth (meaning even faster Musketeers in the future!).
  • Worker currently in Sexy Lumberjacks: Plant forest at Sexy Lumberjacks 66.
  • Workers north of Sexy Lumberjacks: cancel the 3 useless Mines, move 2 workers to build a Road to where the Warrior sits near the Whales. This way we can put the fishing village down one turn earlier.
  • Workers near Holy Grail: Irrigate both Grassland tiles.

The screenie is without build choices or any other changes.

Put an end to popups!

Souther part of the empire

Both us, and CoD are building Roads into the ex-Monkey territory.

I assume, that CoD keeps moving south.

No signs of Monkey trying to sneak a force to the north.

We should seriously start planning cities. I will post a screenie with a proposal in the Domestic Office in a couple days, if no one else does.

Oh and by the way, CoD have a city near the Ivory now.

Increase Your PM Length

Yes, I think so. But he's been busy lately, so if it needs to be played...

Any comments on the MM proposed? Build orders? Unit movements?

All sounds reasonable to me - I can't actually check the save until tonight though, and we had better not hold it that long. Go ahead and play it - we'll have Paddy make up a turn somewhere.

Caerbannog - Unit, I think - Musket?

I assume we're moving 2 with the stack. How about moving 3 with the nearby longbow and 33 with the Horse to unite them?

Played.

What happened:

  • Accepted the map, sent our map accepted.
  • Build orders as proposed above. Cave of Caerbannog starts a Longbowman.
  • Citizen assignments as proposed above
  • Our war stack moved 2, met CoD stack as presumed.
  • Longbowmen followed the stack.
  • Horseman used to scout west, found no Monkey units (pic below).
  • Moved Workers as stated above. Started an Irrigation near Tim's Peak. I guess this Worker was there to join a city. He's been delayed by 2 turns.
  • Added a Worker to Port Avalon. No growth now, still building the Harbor.
  • Settler sent to the northernmost city spot (where the Warrior stands - see screenie in first post).
  • Upgraded a Spear in Château de Loimbard.
  • Upgraded a Spear in Castle Aaaagh.

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

I think we have enough of a buffer zone to begin settling some towns. Building the FP down there is going to be painful, but the quicker we get going on it, the quicker we'll have our southern core up and running.
