Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. anuncia su sello editorial 2K Games - enero 25, 2005

quote: A main priority also appears to be on mixed attacks, and not just on a single overwhelming stack of units (commonly known as the “Stack of Doom”). This brings more strategy to battles, and also makes them more realistic
Your units will gather experience from specific enemy units. One advantage also allows your units to use the enemy’s roads inside their territory, something that was not available in the Civilization III series. This whole concept is more of a Role-Playing Game (RPG) style
The game will probably be using multi-unit graphics for individual units |
quote: This time, Civ IV will have integrated multiplayer, so you won’t have to wait for expansion packs like we did with the Civ III series. A new co-op feature allows for more satisfying gameplay than before when playing with other people, as you will form alliances against the AI, or other opponents. The map generator ensures that everyone starts equally as well, as the map is generated randomly
|
quote: Civilization III was modable, but this was also improved with its expansion packs. So, why shouldn’t Civilization IV be just as modable or even more so? It will be. Our moders will be able to do anything from creating new worlds, units, technologies, and historical events (something they have been able to do in the past), to controlling the AI, something that they could not be able to do in previous Civ games. Basically, it provides full mod support
All this brought to you by the already mentioned above XML data files and the Python scripting language. This insures that almost nothing will be hard-coded, unlike in Civ III. |
quote: Also some rumors came that the AI will not be “cheating” in Civ IV. Until official statements are released, there’s not much that can be said
Rivers may act kind of like roads. If you connect your own road to it, and another civilization does the same at a distance, you might be able to trade via that river, again, this has been something a lot of fans have been wanting
Different terrain types may be included. This may also mean mixed terrain types
Like in Pirates!, it seems like morale will be represented by the status of the flags
You will probably be able to find out your city’s food storage and food being added, and shields used, and to be added, all without having to enter the city itself
The technology tree seems to be deeper than before (again, from the very first screenshots). For example, Fishing and Harvesting (as they appear) will probably be just two of the new techs that are in. Also there is a tech icon for Judaism, so that religion and Civilization is most likely in as well
You will also probably be able to see which religion a city/country worships by the religion symbols right outside of the city |
