IIRC, the Hague doesn't have a jury.

Bah, enough of this tomfoolery. I have 4 hours of scifi to watch now. Much more interesting than reading about Cheney's unfashionable statement.

Edit: Erm, perhaps I should rephrase that...

CAUSE ITS FREAKING COLD OUT AND HE HAS HEART PROBLEMS! Sometimes I wonder why I bother with such idiots.

You may not be familiar with a) cold weather, or, b) dressing appropriately at solemn occasions, but I am. Rest assured that there is very warm clothing available which is suitable for outdoor formal occasions such as memorial services, etc. (Much like that worn by the representatives of other governments in the photo.) While these types of occasions in sub zero temperatures are more common in my country, I'm sure that the appropriate (and warm) apparel can be found in yours as well.

I was going to edit my post but you said you'd be gone so i didn't bother. Anyway. To answer your questions in more details: "that" doesn't make me better than them. "That" is one statement and one position that i take regarding them. My whole life and how i live it is what makes me a lot better than any of these men. I'm not perfect? Big deal. Again, I would not lose sleep over it if an Iraqi mob stoned Saddam.

I just saw this thread, and it has grown too fast for me to catch up in reading. But no matter how incompetent this walking Dick may be, the accusations in the OP is really unfair. What should he wear to keep you happy, a striped prisoner pyjama?

Here's my attempt at a threadjacking (and troll), this seems to be an interesting case example to analyze the liberal mind.

The liberal is upset because the VP of the USA dressed for comfort when he should have dressed for discomfort.
Why? Apparently he failed to show his compassion and sympathy. I wonder, did all the other people dress for discomfort? We must suffer because of past suffering?
Sounds strangely religious...

One of Rush Limbaugh's lines about liberals is they believe in symbolism over substance.

I still don't think Cheney did anything wrong.

One of the bad things Bush has done is abolish Clinton's business casual at the White House and reintroduce a regressive shirt-and-tie policy. Cheney is going against that flow.

If you are capable of perceiving symbolism, symbolism is an integral part of substance. The two cannot be divorced.

According to the article, the big Dick did wear more appropriate attire to a recent outdoor ceremony in cold weather. It was his own swearing in.

And maybe his doctors and his family freaked on his ass over it? Seriously, who cares what the guy wears when he has a diseased heart? The fact he was there means a helluva lot more than what he wore, considering his condition.

Oh spare me. He's well enough to run for re-election and to direct a war and plan a new one, etc., etc., etc. What's this crap about his "condition"? As if that has anything to do with his choice of attire.

Let's be clear. This isn't the biggest issue facing anyone today, including Cheney. I never said it was.

It's just a matter of protocol. This is like wearing shorts to a funeral. It's not evil. It's just disrespectful.
