"We cannot forget the cruel oppression you have bore down upon us."

Well, the above stated is what an unhappy citizen can say as a reason for being unhappy. Right now i have one unhappy citizen in one of my cities with this at 44%, so it is no big deal for this city. Might be something worse for other cities of mine, but just to know it all about it before hell breaks loose. Can anyone tell me what makes this? I have an imagination it has something to do with my hurry-methods i use under communism, but on the other hand i'm not sure that's the reason.

Anyone? Thx in advance..

pop rushing is the practice of rushing your city improvements (or units being produced) using the rush icon in the city screen. Pop rushing only occurs in certain goverments such as despotism, communism, and fascism. In the other goverments, rushing is done by spending gold.

note that pop rushing effects last several turns, so you may have not done it recently.

They'll forget about the oppression in 20 turns if you don't oppress them again.

It's also important to note that if you disband this city by any means while they are complaining about this, the oppresion will transfer to another one of your cities.

Notice that the pop-rushing unhappiness doesn't go away if the city changes owners. So, if you're invading an AI that is running a pop-rush gov't such as Fascism, any cities you conquer are likely to have unhappiness due to the AI having rushed units to try and stop you.

OK, so it actually was as i suspected. Anyway, with my pop rushing done in this particular city, i don't think it is an extremely big problem. Had only one unhappy pop and he only had a 44% due to pop-rushing.

I never noticed that, namely because you get unhappiness from crushing resisters and from occupying a city of foreign nationals with whose homeland you are at war. Its masked the effect.

Yeah, "Hell no, we won't go" is what they'll say after drafting. BTW: Is there a specific need of a set number of pops in order to draft?

For those too young to remember or not familar with US politics in the 60's, the hell no reference was for the Vietnam war draft.

That is what the protestors chanted. It did not help me as I was already in by 1963.

OK. Had a feeling there was a need for this. The only problem for me is that i usally don't have too much military or maybe none in the smaller cities if they are situated in the middle of my nation. But when an AI player makes landfall near one of my smaller cities i could really use that draft thing - but often too few pops.
