There are no new messages Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

Some times (on average once a week) when I visit 'Poly something strange happens and all threads gets marked as viewed and with no new messages since my last visit (read: the arrow to jump to last new post is also gone).

It happens like this:
When I first come to this site everything seems normal, then I go to the first thread on my subscribed threads list (with the jump to last new post button). After reading the thread I go back (with a link, not the back button) to the subscribed threads page and now everything is as described above.


Currently I'm using Firefox 1.0, but this also happened back when I was using IE...

You lucky you. For me, recent threads are marked has having new posts, older ones not, totally regardless of whether I've read the last posts in either.

I have experienced this as well. I believe there has been a thread on this before...something about forum software... blah blah... load on the server... blah blah...database multithreading...blah blah....the owners of the site make the rules...

Why on earth should I prefer constant malfunction to intermittent malfunction? The "New Posts" and "Go to First Unread Post" have never ever functioned for me - judging from the OP, they work most of the time for you.

I can only assume I've got some cookie compatibility. It's never worked ever in either FF or IE for me.

I have suffer the same of Adagio and The Last Comformist. Sometimes all of my threads are marked as viewed even when I haven't view it, and sometimes I see threads maked as not vewed even when the last post is mine

But it's a problem I've seen from the beginning.
