Yikes. I went to a Quick once and it was basically McDonald's food rolled in even more salt. Maybe it was just a bad experience with the one location I went to (around Nice), but it was worse than most fast food in North America.
Almost is bad is a chain in France (don't know if they have them elsewhere in Europe) called Flunch. It's kind of like a permanent cheap buffett. Although you can't beat the name, the food is like sawdust.

Hell yeah.
They just reopened the KFC here in Camden, after about 5 years. I think they had the Grand Opening Monday, and every night since then the parking lot has been full and they've had the drive-through line backed out onto the highway. Just got some now, and although I had to wait 30 minutes, it's easily the best chicken I've had in five years. Popeye's just doesn't cut it, and my cooking mastery is limited to the microwave and those break and bake cookies they sell where all you do is break them apart and toss them in the oven for 10 minutes.
It's a niiice KFC too. It has a buffet and everything and sixty or eighty seats in it. I heard Monday they actually ran outta chicken. While I was in line they were cartin' in food off a big ol' trailer.
They should've built it twice as big. They oughta've known in a city like Camden it would be like this.

I rarely eat at mcdonalds but I think apolytoners underrate it somewhat since it simply is not that bad. At least it isn't always that bad. I suppose the problem is that when mcdonalds food is bad it's really quite terrible and it makes you not want to go back there until the memory has faded.
When the mcdonalds food is properly prepared and the fries are hot and not soggy and the sandwich looks for all the world as if nobody ever sat on it, in those situations a Mcdonald's 'meal' has been tasty enough certainly for the price.

Bah. McDonalds is great. I mean, the horror stores about it rank in the tens of thousands, but I go there whenever I want anything tasteless. When I just want to eat. It's cheap, fast, and sometimes even good!

As far as national chain fast food goes, I think that Wendy's and Arby's are both pretty good.
