Need help with Excel Support Apolyton

Yes yes, I'm that useless a human being I can't use Excel. I'm tired and weary of trying to make sense from my exceptionally poorly written laboratory manual so I'm appealing for help.

I have two sets of data concerning the addition of either a strong acid or base to a buffer solution and the measured changes in pH. I need to graph them both on one graph, in excel goddammit not by hand the easy way.

Basically, I need to get a T shaped graph with pH on the y-axis, base volume to the right of that and acid volume to the left of it.

ml HNO3 added pH
2 4.63
4 4.467
6 4.312
8 4.136
10 3.906
12 3.551
14 2.619
16 2.157

ml NaOH added pH
2 4.82
4 4.887
6 4.959
8 5.023
10 5.094
12 5.178
14 5.244
16 5.369

How in all glorious love of god and man do I get excel to do this exceedingly easy task?

Got spare money?

Have you tried a user-defined graph?

Starchild, just create the graph as you need it with one data set (I know, I'm assuming you can get this far, but if not, I'll help here, too ), then copy the second data set, click on the graph and choose "Paste Special" from the "Edit" dropdown, and insert the data as a new series.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Do not assume I can get anywhere with Excel. It hates me and the feeling is mutual.

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

Gotcha. Okay, once you have your three data sets entered side by side (with ml added on the far left), just highlight ml added and one of the pH sets, go to the "Insert" dropdown and choose "Chart". It will step you through the rest of the process. Once your chart is created, refer to my first post.

Ahh, the light goes on. Disregard my advice, Starchild. I was envisioning what you meant the wrong way.

Full PM-box? Change here!

Yeah, it is hard to figure out what he means...I do have the advantage of being in the same discipline he is in so I knew exactly what he was after...

The sad thing is, with my chemical engineering degree, I've done the same experiment in the past, so I should have known exactly what he meant. Too long out of school and out of actual contact with it, I guess.
