Water usually isnt bad.but when you cant keep nothing down its just a filler and comes back up. Pedialite and gaterade are basicly the same thing. Do you have any rice and cinnamon in the house? |

OK, I'm ill. I've vomitted up everything I've eaten today. I'm hungry, miserable and totally devoid of appetite. And I know I'm in for a horrible headache tomorrow if I don't get any carbohydrates into my system before I go to bed. Woe is me, like.
I was wondering what might be the food most easy on my upset stomach. Unfortunately, I've not got alot of foodstuffs at home; it's pretty much down to bread, pasta, and cereals with milk. I had some fruit too, but it appears to've gone old, so I won't touch that. Yeah, and a couple cookies.
Well, start the mocking ... |
Avoid milk. Plain boiled rice with a little salt, a spoonful of cornflour mixed in fruit juice diluted with a little water.
Dry toast, charcoal biscuits.
Rent some dvds. Sleep.
Get better soon.

My advice to folks who have viral gastroenteritis is clear liqids for the first 24 hours. In the US Pedialyte is the best thing for when you're vomiiting and having diarrhea. I don't know what brand names are to be found where you live. You want something with all of the electrolytes and only small amounts of sugar. You can take Diphenhydramine (Benedryl in the US) for nausea and vomiting and Loperamide (Imodium in the US) for the diarrhea. After 24 hours you can try toast, crackers, rice, baked potatoes, cereals, jello and bananas. After 24 more hours you can try baked chicken and plainly cooked vegetables. It is especially importatn that you avoid high fat fooods, fried food, spicy foods, milk products, citrus, caffeine and carbonated beverages for about a week. Stay on that diet for 4 more days and you should be able to resume a regular diet. You'll also need to avoid alcohol indefinitely.
