I wanted to take the opportunity to start the negotiations/ trading in game, without holding the save, as the pace is at 1 turn a day at the moment.

Everyone will obtain IW soon. We're better off in having all DR neighboors having IW as soon as possible anyway and just as well in gaining something out of it too. You probably think alike and have just been explaining this to BOH.

I knew writing was of the hook. Let's see what they have, wheel and mysticism are also available for trade.

DR knows them as well and is initiating the same exact trade talks - in a short discussion with moonbars, he let that slip (wrong window ironically )

DR has 3 techs that LB doesn't, which means they're the same 3 techs as we have

Oh, and I'm trying to talk to them (LB), but Lord Nuke is probably going to step down from the team, so he's not real interested in talking, and i'm not sure who is leading them now...

I think mart7X5 is the turn player so you can probably start there. Failing that I'd say talk to either Togas, Godking, or ZargonX. I don't know how active any of them are, but they are all active in other democracy games and used to be on mIRC a lot each night (I don't know if they still are since I haven't been on mIRC in months).

Lord Nuclear is something of an egotistical jerk anyway so it's better to deal with others.

I'll try mart7x5. I also heard that Jonny is on their team, in which case i'll probably speak to him as we converse about other things anyway.

LN said they have writing. In which case we need to try to convince them to not trade it to BOH; probably will have to pay them off for it... BOH may help us on this, I said it-without-saying-it to Paddy (no mention of civ, just generally about how strong his desire was to keep DR out of Writing).

Otherwise, we may want to talk about trading writing for mathematics ... ?

There is also another issue we would like to inquire you. Do you research at the moment Philosophy? This question is important for us regarding choice of our next advance for research.

(I sent to him that we indeed were not researching philosophy. I would like to see them research it - if we can ultimately get them to be tech-dependent on us, we can increase the likelihood of them allying with us against DR. )
