	City Name Thread Inflate your Upload Space

Welcome to the Sabrewolf Memorial +1 City Name thread.

Do we want to:

A) Keep the stock city names?
B) Name our cities along the Desolation Row theme?
C) Name them according to our whim when they're founded?
D) Use some other theme (suggestions, please)?
E) Some combination of the above?
F) Why didn't you post a poll, you banana-flinging moron?

If we stick with the Desolation Row theme, here are some suggestions:

I love the suggested city names, but I'll reserve further comment until those of us who are not actually Dylan freaks start to understand what the hell we are talking about

Didn't so much forget it as hit the twelve names I told myself I'd throw out there.

And yeah, that was my one reservation and reason for keeping it open to other themes, too.

there seems to be some insider joke about me that i'm not aware about

i really don't care much about the city names. i think i only didn't use default names in one single PBEM i'm in...
as long as the names are not too long (--> looks shitty when using the zoomed-out view)

Ok, we need to make decisions before the turn comes around again.

Choices probably are:

1. Bob Dylan theme - song lyrics or titles
2. Desolation Row theme - names of despair and foreboding
3. War theme - names of thunder and war!
4. Tropical fish (just to humour Moonbars)
5. Any other thematic suggestions?
6. No theme at all - we take turns in naming cities (rather lame IMHO)

Dante's levels of hell is a good one also.

Purgatory (Repenting Believers)
Level 1 – Limbo (Virtuous Non-Believers)
Level 2 (Lustful)
Level 3 (Gluttonous)
Level 4 (Prodigal and Avaricious)
Level 5 (Wrathful and Gloomy)
Level 6 – The City of Dis (Heretics)
Level 7 (Violent)
Level 8- the Malebolge (Fraudulent, Malicious, Panderers)
Level 9 – Cocytus (Treacherous)

With that, Cocytus may be the best name for the capital.

Oh, and I want Invictus in there somewhere...

Well I've named the capital Inner Sanctum, for want of a more inspiring thought. However if someone would come up with a more appropriate and inspirational name, then we will change it.

Get your minds thinking again. It is time to give our cities some real character!

Perhaps we should just take it in turns naming cities - everyone think of a name. Just one. Put some good deep thought into it and make it meaningful within the context of the game....not something shallow and trivial like names of songs from Bob Dylan albums

Our 4th city chose itself the name of Antioch, which from a historical Crusader perspective I think is quite appropriate.

However, suggestions for renaming the city are invited.

It seems Moonbars has renamed Antioch with some unintelligible combination of letters.

Perhaps it would be preferable for us all to at least know the reasoning behind this. I thought Antioch was ok (as you can see by the post above).



We also need a name for the 5th city - which will be settler in 2 turns.

Suggestions? (don't all speak at once!)
