God, the Wolf Blitzer interview a few minutes ago was atrocious. I shut it off half way through because he was so obviously making things up as he went. And Wolf was just gently tossing him some softball questions that only hinted at the reasons for the controversy.

Just more proof on how the Bush people shield themselves from real people. I heard that quote on The Daily Show last night and I was like "wtf?"

You can get arrested for protesting the President on his routes, now they have fake reporters asking fake questions? This is not heading ina good direction.

James "Jeff Gannon" D. Guckert worked for Talon News until this whole thing came up. He resigned "fearing for his and his family's safety" and is now running the Woe-Is-Me media circuit, like the Wolf Blitzer interview yesterday.

Talon News Came into being during the first term of the Bush administration (2001 I believe). "Jeff Gannon" got a White House Press Pass four days later. His journalistic experiance included all of a Journalism course at one of those scammy "Send Us Money And You Can Earn Your Degree In Under Five Minutes!!!!11!!11!1" pseudo-colleges...and that's it. That's all of his journalistic experiance prior to receiving a White House Press Pass. Scott McClellen, the White House Press Secretary, said that it was his understanding that Talon News had been publishing regularly by the time "Jeff Gannon" came into the White House, that that is one of the things they check for before giving out press passes. He had been denied a Congressional press pass since he could not show he represented a "valid news organization."

In the four days between Talon's inception and "Jeff Gannon's" press pass they published 9 stories. 9 stories in their entire existance of four days at that point. Somone played serious favorites there...

"Jeff Gannon" might not of drawn attention to himself if he hadn't spoken so blatantly like a partisan hack just recently in the WH press room with his comment about Democrats divorced from reality. In that comment he also mentioned Sen. Harry Reid had talked about soup lines when talking about his opposition the Bush's SS proposals...except Reid never said that. "Jeff Gannon" later admitted he got the line from...

wait for it...

...Rush Limbaugh.

"Jeff Gannon" also registered a number of sexually-oriegntated domains, one seemingly about military "escorts" and there's even a picture of "Jeff Gannon" in nothing more than his dogtags and skivvies looking all suggestive and coy. He looks like a Marine that wants it bad, Big Daddy.

More evidence that Jeff Gannon/James Guckert was (at least until recently) advertising his services as a hooker.

Seems to me it still stands as a real question. Now if your point is it is an illconceived question with a dubious premise that might be a different point. But fake would mean it would be something completely different as in not intended to be asked.

OTOH it seems teh premise is correct anyway.
