Allowing Admins in the Private Forum?? Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

I want to ask you all's opinions on allowing Dominae, OPD, UnO access to our forums. UnO and Dominae have requested access (As has "Indiana Joe" ... dunno who that is.)

Anyway, my vote is *no*. I don't see any significant advantage. Rhoth, you seem to be in favor from the main thread - what advantage is there troubleshooting-wise? I've never had to have a PBEM troubleshot after all ... is this just a relic of the unstable PTW game? C3C 1.22 seems to be 100% stable, as far as i can tell ... and what do they need to troubleshoot that can't be done via public forums and/or PMs?

"No" on the other hand I vote because I'd rather a) not have the chance of something accidentally slipping (i doubt they'd do it on purpose, but knowledge of details is hard to forget and easy to forget who knows what); b) there could easily be situations where we are discussing something about one of the moderators' decisions and don't want them privy to it; and c) I'm generally against people being nosy.

Assuming it is accurate that the forum moderator is able to access all forums, this may be moot - but I'd still ask, nay require, whomever that is to stay out of our forum unless requested in ...

Enter the AD-FREE zone

If there's no need to have admins here, I'd see no need to grant them permission.

Every single other democracy game I've been a part of has had outside admins that had access, and no information has ever 'slipped'. The primary one that needed help was of course PTWDG, but I just think it's a good idea.

Another thing that has occurred is a team that was about to do a rules infraction without realizing it. The admin stepped in and warned them about it so they were able to change things before the rule infraction happened.

Things like that are why it's nice to have an admin with access. So my vote is still 'yes'

if help is needed, could we not then invite them in, or do they need to be in the thread first, just in case?

if there is no need...I vote no

afaik there's no reason we couldn't invite them in after-the-fact in terms of turn saving needs. (But that's unlikely now in c3c 1.22, with it being fairly stable.)

Helping us avoid breaking the rules perhaps, but I don't see the admins reading that carefully ... and I think we can avoid breaking the relatively simple rules in this game.
