Gah, I really hate the fact that we have very little food...we are going to need a granary in eacah of the cities that we are about to settle, it seems...

Build on the Spot, and build a warrior. I think that the next cities should be 111 and 777 of the capital, asa both can use the river Bonus Grasslands as soon as they are settled...that reminds me, we need some names...

move the other worker 7 onto the last river BG, and I'll start to sim out the capital position if you lot want me to

I'd like to give some time for other people to comment, too, but meanwhile, heres my proposal :

Settle on spot, as jshelr suggested

Move settler 2, that way we can move it again 2 next turn and reveal some riverside tiles.

If no other food bonus is found, maybe settle our 2nd city 1-1-2 or 1-2-2, to share the cow, as it leaves extra food now and then (+3 fpt dont go even with 10 or 20 fpt needed for growth)

/edit: 1-1-1 is also a good site for 2nd city, as it too shares the cow.

As what to do with 3rd settler and worker, i have no solid suggestions - maybe move both 7. there might be good city site at 7-7-7 or 7-7-7-7/8. Atleast there would be enough wood to chop for quick barracks for a possible unit factory ?

Conqueror, MZ does not have internet access at the moment, being at a friends house. All he has when he gets back home will be dial-up. Rendelnep isi ine New Zealand (around 6am there), and it is early saturday morning in Bulgaria, so ormuzd is prpbably out partying, or with his girlfrend (Valentines).

Atleast 2 ones, not sure about 3, we might want unit factory running quickly.

Next actions could be settling on spot, starting on warrior, research Pottery on max possible we can afford.

I agree. Not necessary 111 777 to the stone, but around there, anyway, depending on what we see.

Yes, hmm, what kind of names we use ? Do we vote on names, have some kind of theme for them or do we let each member decide a name for a city That could be cool.

You mean that you'd make a scenario out of what we currently see ?
If so, thats an excellent idea I used to do so in CFC Gotms

Conq, the advantage of building granaries in all three cities is that we can use forest chops (atleast three in the city 777ish) and a couple in the city 111ish, while the capital will be capable of 5spt in eight turns, when it grows to size two...if both that city and the city 111ish both get granaries, both are capable of being 8 turn settler pumps, and both can build a barracks to build vet troops during the pump cycle. I'm certain that we could build a spear and a settler from the capital once per cycle, and atleast one warrior and settler from the southern city...

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Yes, granaries help a lot. Unless there is no other civs extremely near, i'm in favor of granaries soon in all 3 also.

But then theres the SoZ angle, too. If we somehow could manage to build that before others, it would give a great advantage. But then again, granary = faster growth = more shields for SoZ. So i think granaries win always

If we can get a granary in a city before it grows to size three, then it is defineatley worth it, as we don't have to add workers to cities to boost the pop, so we can use the pop to make settlers...

Another Angle that we could go for is to start another wonder prebuild , aiming for one of the early medieval wonders, Leos in particular. And for when MZ reads this, I hope we can make so that we don't waste 70 turns in the capital with the prebuild

Regarding the cities that we will build after getting some granaries, I would like to make every single one of them build a barracks, unless we have some tasty food rich city sites around us that we don't find immediately...

Tired of ads?

We have only one problem = time. I have to go on few computer repair jobs tomorrow morining 8.00, so i'll have to wake around 7. I'll need to go to bed preferably around midnight my time. (its 23.00 now here)

So we'll have still an hour before i'll need to go get some shut-eye. I'd like to get the save into circulation before going to sleep, otherwise it'll be around 16.00 or so tomorrow before i get back home and to Poly&Civ.

I think we cant go badly wrong if we

1. build on spot, citizen works cow, start warrior build, research pottery at max we can afford. Maybe run on decifit even.

2.move 3rd worker and 2nd settler 7

3. move 3rd settler 1. then we can move him 2 next turn, and reveal more riverside tiles.

Any ideas for the city naming ? Everyone name a city on their turn ? Or something specific.

Toughts ?

dont forget that we can also chop such tiles that are not on city radius. tiles that will eventually be at city radius can be chopped and will still give the shields bck to city.

If needs be I can replay the turn.

quote:
1. build on spot, citizen works cow, start warrior build, research pottery at max we can afford. Maybe run on decifit even.

2.move 3rd worker and 2nd settler 7

3. move 3rd settler 1. then we can move him 2 next turn, and reveal more riverside tiles.

1. I agree

2. I agree

3. I agree, but I would not be adverse to exploring by going 2-2-6-7. It takes one turn longer, but we sprea the net wider with regards to bonus food.

2-2-6-7 ? You mean 2-2-4-7 ? We could move Eastern warrior 2-2 so he'll reveal what can be seen from those hills.

Anyway, revised plan

1. build on spot, citizen works cow, start warrior build, research pottery at max we can afford. Maybe run on decifit even.

2.move 3rd worker and 2nd settler 7

3. move 3rd settler 2

next turn we can first move E warrior 2, to see where continue with the settler ?

yeah, move 3rd settler first 2, we can decide next turn where he goes from there. Youre right about the warrior. And it might be best if E warrior moved 6-9, on top of mount.

Naming: does it sound crazy if everyone names a city, we did that in some CGN demogame, and people seemed to like it.

If people dont want that, or want some specific name for our capital, it can always be renamed ?
If i just give some name to it, so that we'll get the game forwards, and people can decide later, if they wish to change it, if it sounds stupid or something like that

no complsints here, but I think it would be best if we kept a common theme to the names.

What about naming the Capital "Placeholder", while we wait for the other team members to have their say on the topic.

I know, i rather not use it anyway, even in single player.

There is also bug in PBEM chopping, you may get the shields a turn earlier than supposed, and then your worker is 'red' for two turns. We need to consider this when doing the chops.

I'm so sorry I could not attend to this so important first chat session. As I have read the thread it seems you have used the forum. Isn't it better to use something like IRC or any other kind of live chat?
I know it needs to be secured to prevent spying from other people but I don't have the required mnowledge to that (yet). I have used once he yahoo messenger for live chat with multiple people. It may be of use too but you need 1) account on yahoo 2) yahoo messenger 3)windows (I have tried on linux but it had some errors and I wasn't able to use it)

Actually I'm in the same time zone as Conqueror and it was Friday Night. If you add the word Magic and look at my avatar maybe you'll guess where I was.
For everyone who has never heard about this, I'm playing Magic the Gathering and we have a sort of tournament every Friday, called Friday Night Magic.
Additionally my brother has work to do in Friday and Saturday evenings (sometimes even nights) and my access to the PC is severly limited.

I'm going to start turn thread for each of our turns, similar to the C3C ISDG game because I like the idea. It will allow us to keep track of the game and discuss matters before the save comes back to us.
