Having speennt Valentines day aswell as sunday with my girlfriend, I'm sorry but it was not feasible for me to attend. However, there may be something that you might have missed: if we build a city 2 of the northern settler, and build a granary (and maybe a temple to pop the borders), we can have a 4 turn pump by cutting the marsh and irrigatting the fish and cow. The early temple would help in future culture flips, and the lux slider would not need to be as high.
Pros: constant growth, which will be very fast when the pump is fully established; other cities will be able to concentrate on other things, such a WC, spears, warriors for upgrade.
Cons: we would have to run the city at sizes 5-6 to allow the capital to use all of the Bonus grasslands but one, which the pump would have to use, while building thte SoZ. We have to spend thirty shields on a temple to pop the borders, unless we were to plant a city 778 or 7778 of the capital. it would further delay the production of getting the pump into running order by another 5 turns waiting for the culture to accumulate, so wew would be sett back by about 9-10 turns.
Just another optioin for you to consider. Peresonally, I don't like it because we have to pop the borders, and ait wouold take a while to get the pump on line, and in all likelyhood the border-expanding settler would come from the the pump it self instead of another city, so we would be in the same place as if we buiilt a temple, but we would have to spend more money on the lux slider.
As I said, just another optioin
