Getting short clips out of a DVD Put an end to popups!

The organization I volunteer at wants me to take some short 30-second QuickTime clips out of a DVD they produced. Sadly, I don't have a clue how to get started- any help would be appreciated. I've got access to whatever Mac software I need for this project, but heaven knows what happened to the DVDs source files.

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

For that matter, is there an easy way to take a screenshot of a single frame?

I should add that my organization owns all the content and I don't think there's any copy protection on the disc.

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

Why do you have to use a mac?

Adobe Premier would work if you could get it.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

I suppose I could use my home PC if that would be easier. I'm open to any solution that would allow me to extract some clips.

I have access to Final Cut Pro (v3, I think), but I don't have the budget for premier.

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

I don't know if virtualdub will work with MPEG2 files, but you can give it a try.

I think that DVD Shrink should do the trick. It's not a mac program, but if that's okay, then check out http://www.dvdshrink.org

Get a bigger avatar today!

Thaks for all your suggestions- I found a .mov of the file on our external video HDD, so I can just clip out portions from Final Cut. Phew.
