I agree with you:
the uni is a AI; so it works totaly else then a Human opponent. My guess is there are no probes on that ship I expect them to destroy any bases they capture: they have infiltration so they know where our probes are.

I'm wondering about the global attitude: the spartans are very hard busy with misinformation and claiming kills Should we react on it? I would say something like: the spartans are lying and all factions should be wary to trust any information given by the spartans. I hope the gaians and DA realise this but it won't bother to answer their claims.

This is my first DG so i don't do anything, i just study what the experts do. In a few weeks I have perma connection so mayBe i can play a bigger role then

Don't forget we have to prototype missile units first.

Land probes have to be amphib to probe sea units, IIRC.

I agree with jtsisyoda's modifications, and Mead's movement.

I think we were lucky to discover the invasion force before it landed.

I hope that it was the entire force and that there is no other attack striking us this turn. I still think it is the attack team that took down Uni. The next attack team I expect to come from their western shores towards our eastern territories.

Assuming that that's it for now, we have to prepare for next turn.

We don't know what the Spartans are going to do.

We need to plan what we are going to do.

If they take some bases then we will profit from some serious probe action. We need to start planning how. We have several probe units within range of the threatened bases. I'm thinking infiltrate, tech probe down to world map and then repurchase.

I have some questions though.

If they obliterate a base they:

Require a military unit within it to do so, right?

It results in economic sanctions as an atrocity, right? this will hurt them long term, right?

If they obliterate it we can rebuild with our numerous CPs, right?

I have never obliterated a base before (I will in a simulation SP game to see what happens). Do they lose that military unit? Does it use a movement turn to obliterate?

I feel bad that due to RL I had to play the turn quickly before I left for the night. I am greatly relieved that jtsisyoda downloaded the turn I posted, made some necessary changes and posted it in the official turn thread.

I also feel bad that I made a number of decisions without properly consulting the full Board (about an hour ago I noticed that the turn we sent to the Spartans had been downloaded 4 times, and that 7 Spartan members were online, I suspect debating their next moves (I hope they were disappointed by our increased prepardness)).

Let's get ready for the next turn. Depending upon when it arrives, I should not be rushed. Even so, I would greatly appreciate being able to consult with the Board and have the jtsisyoda, #endgame, and Rubin take a look at the proposed endturn before 'endturn' is hit and the turn is posted in the common turn thread.

PS

Micha, could you prepare a press release noting that the Sparta intends the 'Modo' doctraine to apply not only to the international seas, and territorial seas of other nations, but also includes to placing transport loads of Elite Impact Rovers off other factions coasts. It looks like the Sparta is trying to extend the Modo doctraine to the swimming pools of Morgan Industries as well as the Homelands of Gaia and the DA.

We don't want to release this until at least after the Spartan's post their turn. Perhaps not at all, if it will give the Spartans an indication of what we do (and do not) know. What does the rest of the team think?

PPS
I have indicated to the other factions that I am afraid that the Spartans are running away with the game, but I have not told them about them subjagating Uni or the extent to which they are threatening us.

Let me know if you think that is a good idea. If they realize just how powerful Sparta is they may more inclined to Pact with us, but if they perceieve us as being desperate they may seek far more in return for any tech trades or Pact they offer.

One thing I noticed in reviewing the turn I posted (I did not download and review the turn jtsisyoda posted yet) was that there a few units such as the gator buggy that are in the 'G' mode and will move to another space in the fungus unless we cancel those orders. This was a mistake on my part.

I don't think we want them to move next turn unless we tel them. When I download the turn from the DA I will try to remenber to cancel those orders before they are carried out.

Also, if Sparta is making good use of their infiltration then they should be on the 'forces supported' part of the 'base screen' be able to see 'already moved, move to 21,15' on the Agri Narnia base screen when they highlight the defense probe there. They don't exactly know where its at but they should know where it was last turn and by knowing where it is going should know where it is going.

I think Googlie, and pehaps someone else in the Spartan team knows the game well enough to discover my error. They may however, think it is 'misinformation', speaking of which we may wish to consider mislesding them in the future.

Well, I hope they don't notice. If they did, then I hope they think it's intentional misinformation. If not, then there's only a couple of units that are so marked this turn.
I won't intentionally leave them marked again in the future.

In reviewing the turn I just thought of something funny.

Assuming the Spartans don't know the bay is covered, it's likely they'll kill our hoverboat, advance thier transport into the bay, and then discover they have no place to unload. THEN, THEY'LL BE STUCK THERE because of the fungus unable to move and unable to unload. It's a shame we don't have a gator boat or foil within range?

Mead

PS
Assuming they can't afford to upgrade all their rovers to amphibous via the design workshop they are paralyzed (in that action) for this turn.

PPS
Instead of a scout I wish I had rushed a plasma hoveboat in Morgan Mussels. It could have (hopefully killed the heavily laden transport).

Enter the AD-FREE zone

It's in the past, Mead, but instead of the scout I'd have rushed a gatorboat for the cruiser chassis, since we'll have plenty of cash next turn.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Any miliitary unit can obliterate a base. It has to have some movement left. I'm not sure if it uses movement points or not. The unit is not destroyed. There are sanctions, and IIRC it's 10 years for every population point, which is quite a lot.

It's possible this is just a "nuisance raid." They're designed to make your enemy waste resources or overreact on defense, drop out of Free Market, or otherwise panic. I think waiting for an all-out debilitating strike is a better strategy, though... we'll find out soon which kind of attack this is supposed to be.

Suffering from ads?

I hope we did not overreact too much.

The question we should now be asking is what do we do next turn if their trans foil is still parked there next turn.

We have Polymorphic, right? Let's build a cheap Missile Battery and sink those puppies. We need to proto Missiles anyway.

Could we use half an SP on wheels to make a missle foil to kill them plus the Spartan cruiser nearby? It's 30% damaged right now and may be over 50% damaged after it attacks our foil.

That's definitely an option-- good thinking. I don't know how much a missile foil prototype costs as far as minerals. It might (not sure) be quite a bit less than half an sp on wheels. That's easy enough to check next turn, though.

I wish I thought of it earlier.
It would have been enjoyable to have the fully loaded Spartan transport trapped and a fully armed impact foil at Morgan Mussels.
