One thing we may want to consider for the 'beach boys' city btw- if the area to the north of the furs is really good, we can fit two cities in there in the short term - one on one of the squares around the hills there or on a hill, and one directly north of the furs; the middle city would be disbanded later in the game (as it's on a square that would be used by Nirvana) but it would allow us to use squares we otherwise couldn't use (ie use all of our grassland squares earlier), and could function as a settler/worker producer (not a pump, obviously, but sort of ICS theory here - build a city just so it can build you another settler). Similar to what Rhoth was saying about the cow by the ivory ...
But this only applies if the area we can't see right now north of the furs and NW of it is pretty good land; it wouldn't be very useful if that's not particularly useful. If it's all forest, then it might or might not be useful; depending on how many workers we have, if they can clear the forest fast enough. But if it's, say, BGs, or even better has some cow/wheat type things in it, then it's definitely useful, as the 'camp' city (the extra city that will be later disbanded) will get to use the BG two north of Nirvana, and some of the grassland/plains/hills there, and at minimum can ultimately use a lot of the coast/sea squares for ++ trade ...
