Well I am indifferent about the idea of them doing it to dogs in general - no worse than to a pig. But to think about doing it to your own pet, effectively an assimilated member of the family is the bit that rattles me.

At occasions, I have similar thoughts with cars, but with trains too. It also may happen at all kinds of situation where I could end my life just with one step, at great heights etc.
And it's clearly not suicidal. Let's hope this won't ever end in "unintended suicide"...
