MPPS and "Gracious" Civs turned to "annoyed" Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

Just to be shure of it.

I was playing diplomacy with the greeks. They loved me, I loved them, and we both shared a Mutual Protection Pact.

On the next few turns, the Greeks came to me crying they wanted me to declare war upon the "Evil Persions", who had so unnecesarryly attacked them. I did it so, and exchanged some agreesive words (and bullets) with the persians.

Suddenly, they come looking for me, accepting they had lost the war, and I made peace in exchange for 3 fine persian cities.

Then I surprisely realised the Greeks were no longer my dear friends...

What happened? Did they really got angry because of the sudden end of my war?

Thanks

Got spare money?

Yes, you will not make them happy if you sign a peace with a common foe. It is not a good idea anyway as your MPP could force you to declare on the next turn. This hurts your rep with eveyone.

In short don't make MPP's, unless you have to.

I had a similar thing happen with the Greeks only with the Arabs. The war lasted, and the MPP continued until the Arabs were eliminated. The time period for the MPP has long since passed, and they have been annoyed since the Arabs were removed.

SOOOOO Sorry I took some of those Arab cities you felt entilted too. Putz, keep it up. U might piss me off. lol

OR make sure you are the one forcing the other parties to declare war against your "common" enemy...

"Builders are friends, not early targets"

Interesting idea. It´s just a pitty only human players apply it.

It sounds to me like you had a 'per turn' deal in place as part of the MPP (i.e. a luxury trade or gpt deal). When the Arabs were eliminated, it prematurely ended the MPP deal....but also ended the per turn deal. The AI civs look upon that as a breach of a deal (even though it's not your fault) and that's why they were irritated with you.

I make a point not to enter into any luxury or gpt deals during wartime deals (MPPs, alliances, etc.). Bad things can happen to your reputation through no fault of your own.

Don't they also frown upon the fact, that you terminated a civilization? Even though they were at war with them also...
Also, you are propably much stronger now, then when the war started... They don't like that.

The AI declares wars because you are too strong, and need to be taken out before you really become a thread, and if you are weak, you're an easy target, and need to be taken out, well, because they can.
