Depends,
The only way I can see is through the south. Perhaps they took RFR and then went up the road.
If true, then it may be the end of the game for us.
They have lied to us before about the transport, yes?
We'll, lets make the best of this.
This Spartan post should encourage the other factions to go into Pact with us.
and, hopefully it's a lie.

quote: Just before dawn, amphibious elements and Marines of the 1st Army conducted a daring raid into the Corporation?s heartland.
Although surprised at being expected, our brave troops fought overwhelming odds and reached their objective ? Morgan Industries itself.
The Base was captured, then the Planetary Transit System ? that hated symbol of Morgan?s degeneracy and quest for untrammelled growth and of their shameless pursuit of wealth at all costs ? was rigged with explosives and destroyed, unfortunately taking the base with it. We regret the loss of so many civilians, but in the context of the greater good of Chiron?s masses, the stellar sacrifice of those few will not go unremembered.
Their mission accomplished, our stalwart troops withdrew, suffering minor inconsequential losses to materiel and equipment, but the elite Spartan officers and crewmen reached the safety of our waiting navy offshore.
The Junta remains at all times willing to discuss peace terms with the Directors of the Corporation. After their senseless mind-controlling of the SCC Hunter we said that our memories - and our reach - were long. How long, they have just found out. |
OK, so they say they took Morgan Industry and destroyed it. Looks like sanctions for them if true. I more suspect it to be true becasue it is so easily verified by the others.
We still have PEG, yes?
If true it must have come from the south.

I should have check the fungus near RFR.

I took another look at map.
It looks like they made their rovers amphibious via the design workshop (I was afraid of that with the solar flares they would have enough cash). Then they probably cut through our defences and made it into Morgan Ind.

I asked Chaos if PTS showed up as destroyed he answered:

Is the PTS shown as destroyed?

After he told me this I wrote him back asking for a pact. We got to make the best of this situation. Maybe we can get Pacts out of both the DA and Gaians.

Well, what do you guys want to do?
It looks like Morgan might be gone.
We can try to hold on for a while, but it looks like Sparta may have truly run away with the game. From what we can see they have eaten Uni, are gobbling the Hive, and have devastated Morgan. I am not sure if they are going for Gaia or DA next. They had a transport full of Elite Impact rovers in the seas near DA, but also share the same sea as Gaia.
I still propose the Pact, although it my ability to partake in the game, as well as the the Morgan's ability to survive may be limited.
BTW they have missiles and may now have DAP.

I don't really know what to do or say.
We lost Morgan Ind., the Net Node, the PTS, and the headquarters.
I don't know what our drone situation will look like at the start of the turn.
I don't know how bad the cash flow will be with the loss of efficeincy.
I don't know how bad the lab points hit will be.
We still have the PEG and HGP, yes?
We should have enough cash on hand to seize the rovers that are still within our territory?
We have missles, yes?
We might get Pacts with both the DA and Gaians.
Sparta has lost any Commerce income for at least 10-20 years (1-2 pop).
It looks like we might, might get DAP sometime soon?
Let's see what we have when we open the turn.
The game just got a lot tougher.

I didn't know they wanted to sue for peace.
If they did it would only be temporary. A mere respite to prepare for the final kill.
If they have other forces in range of our homeland then we are in great trouble.
I can start a refugee thread in the open forums to try to get the Gaians and DA more into the mood to grant us a Pact.
Even if we did get Pacts out of both winning will be difficult.

PS
It is a shame that we could not hold out until DAP came along.
Airpower would have greatly limited the Spartans MCC advantage.

I feared that they would be able to make their Impact rovers amphibious via the design workshop. they did.
I was hoping that they did not have enough cash to do it. I did not know how much it would cost.
If they had too many rovers elsewhere to upgrade all of them, then they must have disbanded those other rovers.
The Solar Flares must have helped their cash flow, but maybe they supplemented the flow by selling and facilities they may have had.
I wonder did they take Morgan Mussels and then bring the ship in, or did they cut their way around Morgan Mussels. If they took Morgan Mussels then that they either destroyed it or still hold it (could they gift it away?)
I'll post a refugee thread. Primarily to get the other factions to be more supportive of Pacting with us.
Mead
PS
I should have destroyed the road from Morgan Mussels to Morgan Industries. That may have held them back.

Yes, we need a new HQ.
We'll have to see how many SC we have left and how many we need.

Also, anyone know where we left the 1/2 SP on wheels?
-- CTO #endgame |
It was on the road southwest of Morgan Industries.
They had to kill the regular crawler on the road between Morgan Industries and Morgan Mussels.
They had to go right past the 1/2 SP on wheels. Unless they had absolutely no movement points left, they should have killed it to.

Money Valley might be a good spot for an HQ. To the north and west, fungus impedes invaders; to the south and east, there's a lot of space and several bases.
If Sparta had the resources, they surely would've destroyed PEG as well-- it's probably equally valuable. That's not to say they aren't planning the next attack with a larger force. |
HGP is in that basr too, isn't it?
