If Shaggy eats so much, why is he so thin? Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

This is been one of the nagging questions of my childhood. I'd appreciate some help here.

The only thing I can think of is he uses speed.

He's a hippie, he can't afford food on a regular basis. He binges when he can, because it may be the last time he can eat for a week. Plus, whatever spare change he picks up from his non-existant job goes into buying more Scooby Snacks.

he eats scoobie snacks as well.

yeah I'm watching the new animated movie.

I didn't realize they made a new movie in 2000. I'm not talking about the live actions fiascos- those were horrible. I'm talking about animation- how it should be (and no Scrappy). This movie is called: Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders. It's on HBO right now.

I used to think I had a fast metabolism. But after high school, I did actually start to gain weight from all the food I ate. I gained 50 pounds. I lost those 50 pounds, but then I gained 9 pounds back. I have to lose those 9 pounds still.

He's a drug addict, that's why. He's probably got some underlying chronic infection from dirty needles. He might even have AIDS.

Did you know that Velma is only supposed to be 15? According to the Scobbie-Doo exhibit at King's Dominion Shaggy is 19, Daphne is 17 and Fred is 18.

Why do Velma's parents allow her to run around the country with these deadbeats? I think that it's about time for social services to step in before Shaggy gives her something incurable.

Tired of ads?

Shaggy has a high metabolism.

I eat constantly, and lots of unhealthy food too. I also don't have time to exercise much either, and I'd consider myself almost skinny. Well not skinny, but definately slim.

Although I do pace around alot and generally can't sit still, so maybe that helps.

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

The interesting thing that potheads in general tend to be thin. While I know some exceptions, it seems to me that despite giving you the munchies, weed doesn't seem to make you gain weight. Of course the other question is whether Shaggy is high on any other drugs though. It seems that while his paranoia can be the effect of the grass, the constant hallucinations of monsters chasing him indicate he's usually tripping on shrooms or acid.

Sometime in the next year a new weight reduction medication will be introduced to the US market. The new medication, Accomplia, is not a stimulant like the previous anorectic drugs, but instead works by blocking the cannnabinoid receptor. Yes, that's right, it works by blocking the brain receptors for marijuana. Evidently some of these receptors are a prominent part of the mechanism for regulating appetite. Accomlpia also seems to have a promising role in the treatment of tobacco abuse.

Oh, and it will keep junior away from the evil weed.

If we're talking realism, I don't think any amount of marijuana could make a group of kids stupid enough to continue thinking the ghost in the mansion is real after seeing him revealed as the french butler fifteen frigging times in a row. Yes, it's always a different suspicious foreigner, but still, that many repeated lessons would be enough to teach a pigeon there was nothing to be afraid of.

I can thank Scooby-Doo for curing me of watching cartoons when I was a young lad. The series was so repetitious and devoid of novelty that I developed a revulsion for cartoons that lasted for years.

Who ripped off who? Support Apolyton, buy Civilization 2

I always thought this was a wierd cartoon...with a car that talked like a person. Perhaps it had a good following in Germany (ala Knight Rider).

Anyway, did Scooby Doo rip off Speed Buggy or the other way around.

In any case, the dude in Speed Buggy looks just like Shaggy.
