He's a hippie, he can't afford food on a regular basis. He binges when he can, because it may be the last time he can eat for a week. Plus, whatever spare change he picks up from his non-existant job goes into buying more Scooby Snacks.

He's a drug addict, that's why. He's probably got some underlying chronic infection from dirty needles. He might even have AIDS.
Did you know that Velma is only supposed to be 15? According to the Scobbie-Doo exhibit at King's Dominion Shaggy is 19, Daphne is 17 and Fred is 18.
Why do Velma's parents allow her to run around the country with these deadbeats? I think that it's about time for social services to step in before Shaggy gives her something incurable.

Shaggy has a high metabolism.
I eat constantly, and lots of unhealthy food too. I also don't have time to exercise much either, and I'd consider myself almost skinny. Well not skinny, but definately slim.
Although I do pace around alot and generally can't sit still, so maybe that helps.

Sometime in the next year a new weight reduction medication will be introduced to the US market. The new medication, Accomplia, is not a stimulant like the previous anorectic drugs, but instead works by blocking the cannnabinoid receptor. Yes, that's right, it works by blocking the brain receptors for marijuana. Evidently some of these receptors are a prominent part of the mechanism for regulating appetite. Accomlpia also seems to have a promising role in the treatment of tobacco abuse.
Oh, and it will keep junior away from the evil weed.

I can thank Scooby-Doo for curing me of watching cartoons when I was a young lad. The series was so repetitious and devoid of novelty that I developed a revulsion for cartoons that lasted for years.
