Turn Orders: 3700bc Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Actions taken in 3750 BC

Worker McM: started chopping forest
Worker Rhoth: still roading the hill
Worker Snoopy: moved 1 to the riverside BG

Warrior Rex: moved 2
Warrior Dog: moved 3 and ran into a Persian/ Desolation Row (DR) warrior @3.

AbbA (2F, 1S, 3C) building barracks, to be changed to granary
12/20 in granary, 12/60 on "granary"
workforce on cow 3F, 2S, 2C
U2 (2F, 1S, 1C) building barracks in 7
6/20 in granary, 6/20 on barracks
workforce on bonus grass 2F, 1S, -C
Nirvana (2F, 1S, 1C) building barracks in 7
2/20 in granary, 2/20 on barracks
workforce on riverside bonus grass 2F, 1S, 1C

pottery acquired from BOH, masonry was given in return
the wheel @ 90% science in 12 turns.
Treasury @ 7 (+0)

Remarks
- negotiations with DR did not go all that smooth as they were poorely available. Moreover they felt it necesarry to have a vote on the issue. With 3 out 6 voting in favor and the other 3 still left to vote, I decided to no longer stall the game. WC has been offered to DR and we're aiming at getting BW in return.
- I think we made a perfect move with the warrior. We're still closer to Nirvana then DR is and therefore we show it is not undefended.

Proposal for actions in 3700 BC

Worker McM: continue chopping forest
Worker Rhoth: continue roading the hill
Worker Snoopy: start mining the BG

Warrior Rex: move 2, towards where Persia should be
Warrior Dog: depends on actions of DR.
As I mentioned before I want to keep Dog close to home. A civ might still come in from the north. Furthermore DR should not be given an opportunity to invade. However, it would be nice to extend our view by moving to another mountain top (2). DR might want to move further north along the coast. That's undesirable. They'll get to the goody hut and if that pops a few barbs, we're in trouble. Negotiations required.

AbbA: change construction barracks to granary!

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

Not at this point. Warrior Dog should be hanging around, as a result.

Specifically, if DR moves their warrior 8 (N) we should move the warrior 7 (NW) to be 6 from Nirvana, protecting it from DR incursion yet maintaining a superior position relative to the goodie hut.

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

Added to that, same goes for the event when the DR warrior moves 4.

Like Euphorica was asked not move further west I would like to propose to have the FM persuade DR in not moving towards our goodie hut. That might be difficult as the effect could be just the opposite, having them alarmed and curious.

Support Apolyton, buy Alpha Centauri

I was thinking about this last night...we might want to start thinking a little more about defense in our cities. Barbs are obviously around already, and we have two civs on opposite sides of us. One warrior cannot protect all three cities from threats on all sides, especially if one of the others decides to sneak attack us like we're planning to do to others.

I know we're finished with our barracks in AbbA soon (and don't forget to move the cattle tile to the ivory in the last turn before city growth to pick up a commerce point ) but it will still be several turns before we can complete enough units to provide adequate defense in our cities. I would suggest we change over our barracks build in Nirvana to a warrior, just for a little more protection.

People see an empty city, especially this early, and they go for it. That was why you lost one of your cities in the Mesopotamian Clash PBEM snoop. I just don't want that to happen in this game. If someone finds the same situation as I did in Meso Clash then we'll find ourselves exiting quickly.

I do understand you Rhoth, but I favor taking the risk. With a warrior on the BG 9 from U2 and roads connecting all cities in about 8 turns we will then be able to have the warrior fortified within a turn. By that time we'll have barracks in U2 to start training archers anyhow.

A point of attention is that Snoop and I have decided to change the barracks build in AbbA into granary. Production there will be improved by chopping forest.

At this moment no team has enough units to go to war

Suffering from ads?

My feeling is ... somewhat in between. I definitely think we need a military unit, soonish; but i'm not sure *this* soon. I suggest U2 build an archer as soon as its barracks complete (7 turns, then another probably 5-7 for the archer depending on growth and improvement). China is making friendly to us, and I don't think barbarians are out yet - don't forget we are white units (unless I'm missing something?) ...

edit: Also agree building a warrior or archer in Nirvana ... depending on DR's actions, really. If they let us follow them up with our warrior, we just get a free exploration that we otherwise would have to do ... and can change to warrior from archer if we have to (though i like the 2/1/1 attacking guy. )
