	Silent PBEM: Gunboat Diplomacy - Turn Tracker Thread 2 Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

Let the silent mayhem continue.

Rules: This is a silent PBEM. Which means, no out of game contact or discussion at all. Everything has to be done through the F4 diplo screen. There will be no chats, or out of game messages, or map trading outside of the game. Deal with each of the other players as if they were an AI. This of course will mean fewer alliances and co-ordinated attacks - or any tech trading in advance. It should raise the uncertainty level greatly - and play a bit like very challenging SP game - and less like a demo game.

This PBEM thread will only allow "sent to ABC". No smileys or comments or the like which could be a form of communication. And no code on the trade table either. Given the bright and creative bunch we are, I can envision we would soon have a barter language similar to contract bridge. (An opening of 7 gold means I want an alliance ... ) Let's play this straight up to see how it works.

Fellow players, I have been puzzled by an event that occured a few decades ago. Hopefully it doesn't offend the rules to talk about it.

1870 BC: I had sent out a settler and intended to found a city on the next turn. The barbarian settlement in the mountains seemed to be of little concern as there was no way the settler could be attacked.

That's a puzzler. There is no way the barb could have moved two spaces because of the mountains/jungle. I have no idea.

I think this is well within the rules to bring up a situation like this.

Being that none us have amphib capability, none of us would be able to attack from the sea. Clearly the barb in the 1870 graphic wouldn't be able to get there as has been stated.

Is it possible a barb was generated randomly in that space or do they only come from barb camps?

Could it have been a Graphics glitch?
whereas the barb was actually in next space to settler?

I have seen this in many different games, not CIVIII yet
