Nice turn. We found neighbours with wines! Now we'll just have to bring the pretzels.
This is about the first time those "maps of the region" are actually useful.
The usual short considerations from your favourite Monster:
- If you look carefully, you can see the border of the Boys run one tile (but not two!) SW along the dark edge again. This means their capital is probably southward of the city of Assamites, near the wines. The location of their capital may very well be S-SE-SE of Assamites to generate this boundary pattern.
- The Lost Boys should not be able to see Gunther right now, but they will if he moves straight E. However, we may want to delay contact one turn, to allow Gunther to circle their territory. It's quite important to discover a second civ beyond the first! NE would be a good option then.
- The Boys seem not to be interested in exploring our way, for now. It's logical they headed towards the middle of the map first.
- Anna should heal. Now -- is that better in the field, or in the open? Fortifying her is a good option.
- The middle warrior (near PoAshur) will uncover the river area if he moves N. The warrior N from Inanna can move NE to uncover a bit more and to keep our warrior screen in place.
- The warrior in the NW better move N to the hill, and then head for the second mountain. Move him after the PoA warrior - if the latter uncovers barbs or neighbours, this warrior can turn E instead to intercept.
- Alphabet (5) + Masonry (4) = 9. We should try to trade Ceremonial Burial (2), Bronze Working (3) and Warrior Code (3) for this. This is a total of 8, but we can use the argument that it's three techs against two. They can have Mysticism in 9 turns instead of Warrior Code, if they like. It's actually less since some cities will grow.
- The Boys are Seafaring and Industrious. They will have faster ships, and quicker workers. Their capital is quite probably on or very near the coast.
- Their city seems to be poorly located. Why did they not build on the hill or the flood plains tile that are adjacent to the river? Or does that river make a turn so they are on it anyway?
edit: they are on the river.
- The city of ABBA is size two, but we're still #1 in population. Curious. They either got a food source, but did not develop their other cities as well as they've could, or they joined a worker (?!)
- If you press CTRL-Shift-M, you can see that there is coast south of the wheat tile in the far south, and probably also south of the Silks tile in that region.
