The database is entirely gone.

Eventis 4 will start off completely fresh, and Frozzy is taking his time with setting it up, in the hopes of avoiding another sudden collapse.

With any luck, Eventis 4 will be up and running by the end of the weekend. Don't be surprised if it takes a little longer, though.

All ED&D images are saved, as is most of the info saved from Eventis II. Anything since then has been lost.

Actually, I'm thinking of using this as an opportunity to start the campaign off fresh, with everyone creating new 1st level characters...

I am actually of the opinion that this is punishment meted out to us by the Internet Gods. Tassadar was winning the Tearoom mod poll the last time I checked, after all.

Hmm, I actually like that idea, especially with the late player changes we've been having (Skanky and Nestor have arrived, Theben, HongHu, Tassi? and Ben have left).

Not doing those quests is about the only downside to a new campaign. The problem is I'd have to reconstruct half of the info from memory. Also, this way everyone who's in can start playing right away (no more waiting on one group or the other). I also like the idea of giving you a chance to get the hang of things against weaker monsters and such before you get thrown into another uber-dungeon...

If you still have the character sheets, why would you have to reconstruct anything? And we could all simply be transported out of the dungeon, together, regaining health and everything. It'd be as if we started over, except we get to keep our history.

I don't have all of the info from the character sheets. Most of it was transfered manually (ie, cut & paste) from Eventis 2 to Eventis 3. Any changes since the move to Eventis 3 (encumbrance, for example) would also be lost. Since the work load would be about the same for me either way, I vote for a fresh start.

We can always go back to the old characters at some point in the future.

It also gives folks a chance to start completely new characters if they didn't like something about the old ones, or just for a change of pace. To be fair, I think we should reroll all the stats. If they match with your old character (depending on the method you choose, it shouldn't be too tough) you can it the same class, but you'd be free to make it whatever you'd like.
