Maybe so, but the government has no authority to punish journalists who publish such things. Nor does a company have a right to sue them, if they themselves did not sign an NDA.

It seems what's going on is that Apple is trying to force these bloggers to divulge their sources, so that Apple can sue them. I don't see where the Court gets off making this ruling.

As to the matter at hand, despite the specific wording of the law, the issue is morally the same as the Valory Plume case. It is interesting to see who is changing sides.

Yes they do. You don't have to have an NDA for it to be illegal to divulge trade secrets.

We are either discussing the rule of law, or whether a certain law is ethical and/or just. I wasn't discussing whether information should be free. Rather, if somebody broke a law, he should face the consequences. There's no civil disobedience without getting yourself in gaol.

As for blogs, they are no different from a Web forum such as 'Poly and is almost identical to regular websites. The bad thing about blogs is most of them are either worthless mumble jumble put out by people with severe narcissism.
