One of my New Years predictions has come true! Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

I am going to be a father!!!!!

My wife and I came back from the hospital today with our first look at our new child. The little squirt is about an inch and a half long and has an itty bitty heart that is just pounding away.

She is 9 1/2 weeks along and due mid September to early October. With how far along she is, it makes our babys conception around New Years. I knew I had a good time but DAMN!

It does, but then she will turn into a ravenous locust. Before pregnancy, my wife was flirting with vegetarianism. In the last trimester, I have never seen her eat so much red meat in my life.

The morning sickness typically does but then sh might need to pee constantly as the baby squeezes her internal organs. Oh and have you been warned about the hormonal irrationality?? For the husband that's the most fun

I know about it. However, I was hoping that it isn't much worse than the normal hormonal irrationality.

Experiences differ-- Mrs flubber is usually pretty sensible but she was a bit more emotional during the pregnancy. After the birth, a combination of sleep deprivation and hormones made life very very crazy for a while.


My advice is sleep now (while you can) and don't get too attached to any of your usual routines. Its quite a ride but worth every second.
