Support Apolyton, buy Alpha Centauri

If I need something I can't buy over the counter then I just drive 20 minutes south to Mexico where everything (and I do mean everything) can be bought.

As for whether it's actually any good or not....I usually ignore so-called 'studies' into herbal rememdies as most seem to be a lot of crap. I find it helps me, personally (particularly re anxiety, which my anti-d's dont seem to be dealing with at all) so therefore I take it.

(turns out i was wrong with what I said before - having actually bothered to read the leaflet for the first time in my life, it turns out it is an ssri Oh well)

I've had this argument before. Now you're probably going to think I'm a pharmaceutical hack, but any effect that comes from herbal remedies is more of a coincidence than a design, I mean, where is the evolutionary advantage of a plant being able to cure a headache or depression? It's just that there are some molecules that have a very crude ability to do this. Science has taken these molecules, studied and refined them. Take aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid), originally extracted as salicylic acid - had the same anti-inflammatory effect, however it was virtually inedible because it was incredibly bitter and harmful to the digestive system (more so than aspirin). So with some investigation, it was found that the acetyl derivitive was far safer. In a nutshell plants have given a good idea for a drug, a very crude form, but apart from that they just aren't worth the hassle. And don't think they are all nice and safe either, some of them can have some nasty effects, just that the doses you are dealing with a so low that this does not occur (and thus the therapeutic effect is more placebo than anything else).

Use proper drugs dammit

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

I don't take over the counter medine except for mild disorders, such as a loose bowel or a cough.

Mixing so many different drugs together certainly seems dangerous.

Yeah, I'm with UR...I am very sensitive to aspirin (which is a good thing) so I can take a few hundred mgs of the stuff and it will kill even the most raging headache. That and a course of prozac in the past...I have dabbled in 'da 'erb' but it really doesn't do that much for me...

Get a bigger avatar today!

You got raging headaches too? Once in a while I'd get these nasty migraines. Good thing it's not that recurring.

Well whenever I get a headache, it's not that common. If I have an excessive lie in (it's why I limit myself to 8 hours a night max) or overindulgence the night before...purely self inflicted...

Got spare money?

I wish I was more sensitive to aspirin, I'm like an African christian in a gay porn movie when it comes to other drugs . Used to be on codeine for headaches so I guess I shouldn't complain.
