Hello all @ whoever wishes to respond...

I've really been wondering about something, and I tried reading through many posts to find answers, but I have not been successful. What I'm wondering is...well, I wish, in CIV2/TOT, I could attribute (from beginning of game/scenario) at least 6 different city styles to 6 different tribes/civs...also I wish I could expand the number of units allowed, beyond 64 or so for CIV2 / 80 for TOT. Uffa...talk about dumb, not only are the answers to my querries probably well-known to all, but I didn't even phrase this in the form of a question...scusami, mispiace.

P.S. On a brighter note, I've noticed there seems to be quite a few Canadians here...I wonder how many from Alberta?

Hmmmm...it would seem or appear as though about a dozen people passed by, "heard" my question or non-question inquiry, and either an answer or answers is/are not maybe as obvious to all as I might have thought, or maybe...ehehehe, nobody cares.

Forgive me please, I'm new here, please do not mistake my anxiousnous for impatience...if someone could be so kind as to respond to/address my post I would be most appreciative...Thank You.

ToT has 7 city styles: Classical, Medieval, Bronze Age, Oriental, Renaissance, Industrial and Modern. The last 3 only become available when a civ gets a particular technology (I'm not sure which ones). In a scenario setting you could give those trigger technologies to 3 different civilizations and make sure that nobody else can research them. That way each civ can have its own style...

Not possible.

That's what happens on a forum. When people don't know the answer they can't help. Secondly, you're mentioning ToT and not as many people have that. Thirdly, the things you wanted to know are scenario creation things. You'd have better luck in the Scenario League/Civ2 Creation forum (if you want to have the thread moved there, you can send a PM to Ming). Finally, calling your thread "Newbie's Dumb Question" is an excellent way to be ignored. It's usually more helpful to mention in the thread subject what it's about/what you're asking.

Your politeness is appreciated, but lose the inferiority complex. Most people here are glad to help with whatever questions you have. Civ2 is an old game after all, we need all the people we can get!

Thank you very much for your response, helpful information and advice.

As for starting off with 6 or more Civs, each having their own city style...I must confess I had thought along the same lines, but I had mistakingly figured that I'd have to trigger an era change, vastly affecting other civs, the entire game/scenario...so, I'm quite happy with what you've told me.

As for increasing number of available units....mmmmm...in a number of scenarios there's the feature of let's say 3 triggered units graphics changes (ie. seasonal changes to units, terrain, etc)....I've wondered if it were possible to have a trigger or triggers that one applies strictly to designated civs....nah, doubt separate graphics gifs could be in play simultaneously...oh well.

Would cracking the source code, having it released/shared, allow for or make it possible to increase number of units?

MGE and Classic/2.42 seem to be the same (assuming by "Classical" you mean Greek Parthenon). When you customize the civs during game/scenario creation one of the options is City Style, and only the first four are options. The trigger techs for city style change are Industrialization and (not positive) Electronics?
