we were not attacked. Geo reloaded once
The spartan ship is still nearby, we should consider moving our hoverboat into range to kill it(upgrading it first off).
yang is throwing up missile and gattling units left and right, hope we can frame someone else for the theft so he focuses on Sparta.
we are getting 206 energy per turn.
Should we place sensors to spot the naval fungus areas?
we have pact with Gaia, treaty with everyone except yang(truce), sparta and Zach(vendetta).
my take:
Our probe foil near Lal is near an iod, run away run away!
Our probe foil near Yang needs to be 2 squares closer to the target, i'd say to choose the socialism tunnels target since it requires moving closer to our territory then to Sparta.
Our transport should get the artifact to land pronto, the spartan navy units are likely close to it. Moving down, right,NE puts it between two fungus patches, that may be a good move. down, right, right puts it in fungus, but that is risky.
moving NE until we can land the probe on the fungus square is no faster then going down, right,NE, then NE, up,up and unload the probe.
we need to build more warships and get into the fight.

I looked at the turn.
Diplo Notes:
I offerered Lal a treaty in return for Goodwill. He said no.
We have lot of cash - 209EC.
There are not many rushes available this turn.
We may want to overrush to get 10 carryover mins at as many bases as we can.
I see:
RFR Gator Boat 68 - 12 (6min)=56
Money Valley SC 44-19 (9min)=26
Morgan Interstellar scout 22-4(2min)=19
Morgan Mines 44-4 scout(2min)=40
Morgan Vul 44-12 SC (6min)=32
We should rush everything and overrush the high min bases.
Paramiria, Agri Narnia, CCC, Hindenberg Habitiat, Mead Metal, Micha Archives, Morgan Mines, Morgan Transport, need stockpile added to the build que.
Where is the transport going to land the artifact?
It looks like due south from the fungus south of Hindenberg Habitat?
This turn we need to send two 2-move probes to where it can pick them up next turn and head south.
Hive Lab status
Developing DAP
Tech Cost 604
Tech Accum 298
Tech needed 306
Tech per Turn 73
The calculator says that they will need 5 years to get DAP, but in 4 years at current rate they will have 292 additional tech. I'm thinking their tech rate will go up enough over the next couple of years to get DAP in 4 years. We need to be ready to grab it.
Big Concerns.
That ship north of Whohabitiat is just sitting there. It's not destroying anything. It's leaving the roads intact. I think that's where they'll land.
We can't fortify everything.
I suggest Mead Metal, Agri Narnia, Micha Archies, Vander Eud, Hindenberg Habitiat.
Priority should be given to Mead Metal and Agri Narnia on the west and Vander Eud in the east. Once we get perimter up in those base we need to stock them well with plasma units and rovers, stripping the units out of the non perimeter equiped bases until they get perimeter.
We may need to disband a unit or two to get enough mins to make the perimeter defense next turn.
Regarding the gatorboat near Lal. We can either head toward UN High Commishion to infiltrate and return home, or we can try to go north of the island and try to go around the IOD.
I think we need to go Funde next turn. I wouldn't mind spending 40EC to go Funde this turn.
That's it for now.

Let's not upgrade it until after we doing moves we are going to make. We can always upgrade it through the design workshop.
Plus, I'm not so sure I want to make it a missile plasma. Missile unarored is okay if it is cheaper. Ships are usually mere targets if they are discovered.
We do need to get some naval presence in the western seas. I fear that a spartan invasion force is headed our way and I would like to have at least a couple (3 would be nice) missile ships in place to disrupt it. Do we Rush something out of Morgan Mussels?

Latest thoughts looking at the map.
Money Valley an Impaler Poly are vulnerable to an attack from a landing at (24,6). I suggest considering changing the SC in Mead Metal to a perimeter next turn and rushing the perimeter. Additionally, I suggest stocking it with more units. Have the former at (27,7) help the formers at (28,8) finish the mine and then all should make a sensor at (27,9) helping Mead Metal plus Money Valley.

I would send the foil towards Lal, found a new base next turn on (27, 29), infiltrate Lal afterwards - the Gator will move there and be cable to reach the "invisible" Hive base at (34,36).
Additionally, we get 10 minerals if we switch to Fundy before and might get a improved chance of successul Lal infiltration when we switch to Fundy next turn.
Sidenote:
Can someone give me some background about overrushing?
OH HOLY SH***!!!
SPARTA HAS AIRPOWER!! See game attached, I will upload a screenshot, too, to present it to Chaos and Geo.
Found out by moving the foils around a bit. I guess we call could be in a wee bit of trouble rather soon.
NOW I KNOW WHY THEY DISBANDED THE GATLING ROVERS! They needed every possible mineral for construction of their air force!
I will continue tomorrow morning (my time) with game playing and planning...

Is it too soon to say game over?
How about I pass this on to the other factions and see what they say?

It is worth noting that the Spartans AND the Uni had Synth Fossil Fuels on the turn we discovered them (2161).
Furthermore, the Federation has not been infiltrated yet. I think (albeit I have little hard evidence to back it up) that the Federation is trying to avoid us infiltrating them like the plague.

I firmly believe they have been try to avoid infitration.
Look at how they avoided taking Morgan Muss in the turn they destroyed the PTS.
Taking Morgan Muss would have made the invasion easier for them, but would have meant we could infiltrate afters.
I think they are, wisely, avoiding attacking us until it is a deathblow.

I don't know if this is worth mentioning, but that pact with the Gaians is bringing in 40 EC / turn. Being an underdog with lots of treaties might be useful...
No offense, but we could try rushing a net node, switch to D: AP, plug in the alien artifact, switch to PS, then go all out on planes?
Switching to PS would cut our energy income to 148 EC and boost our unit support from 0 to 3 free units.

Sounds good to me.
I'm thinking of play hardball with the DA. Telling them about Sparta having DAP and that we're thinking of capitulpating to Sparta if we can't get a Pact out of DA. I've been trying to get them to Pact with us. I'm thinking of the same strategy with the Gaians to get them to tech trade.

They are going to be talking to the Spartans and amongst each other... We don't know what the Spartans have said about us. Our record in dealing with the Spartans is not clean...
I would should it to the DAs just to give them fear, that and the powergraph...
I am not up to speed and therefore not a good source of knowledge.

Proposed letter:
quote: Dear Data Angels and Gaians:
We are troubled to inform you that the Spartans have now fielded an air force. We can provide screenshoots of a B-6 Hardened Spartan Needlejet in flight.
The Corporation has been presented with couple of choices. One, immediate capitualtion to the Spartans. We can either become the Spartan Pet, or allow the Spartan forces to enter and occupy our bases on by one. Or, two, death within 4 turns. Most of our members can join the victorious Spartan empire.
That can happen.
Instead of the above, we could continue to carry on the fight if we have the complete and total cooperation of the Gaians and DA. As I have been saying over the past few turns, perhaps, if we all enter into a three way Pact and coordinate our defensive and tech research we might be able to hold off the Spartan advance.
Without complete and total cooperation we might as well go over to the Spartans. The game won't turn out any differently, but at least it will end a little sooner and we'll have a little more fun (maybe they'll let us drive/fly a few of the planes).
Please let us know soon so we can make our decision.
PS
Even with all of us cooperating together it is questionable whether any of us will live. At least we can try.

I have not yet sent the PM. I am awaiting input from the Corporation.
My feeling is that whoever doesn't play ball gets nothing. Whoever does play ball with us gets everything.
Mead
PS
We might consider capitulating.
I would rather help Sparta kill the DA and Gaia if the DA and Gaia don't help us, than serve as a speed bump trying to give the DA and Gaia more time.
If they want us to help them slow Sparta down, then they have to absolutley and completely help us.

I think the Federation is going to spit in our face with any offer we have to give them considering how peace negotiations were handled post 'hunter'. We had our chance to team with the Spartans. That time has passed.

A few notes:
Overrushing
Overrushing is paying the full amount to finish an item tand then a few extra ECs.
Example Base X produces 7 mins per turn. It will finish the itme it is currently producing in 2 turns but will rush the item if you pay 20EC.
You could just pay 6 mins and have it complete next turn.
You could pay 20EC and it would complete next turn and carry 7 mins over to the next thing it builds.
You could pay 26EC (overrush) and it would carry 10EC over to the next thing it builds.
The max min carryover is 10 I think. If you have 10 mins already, it makes rushing things even cheaper.
If you don't overrush in the above example rushing two turns in a row is expensive. If you do overrush then you can economically rush every turn.
Roads
We may want to start tearing up some roads now. I'm worried about the plane off the east cost - why is it there? to screen for an invasion? I'm worrid about the ships off the west coast? an invasion is coming quickly.

I will continue turnplaying tomorrow during the day. Tearing down roads is something I will do for sure. |
It may be to keep an eye out for any invasion from us.
They don't know where the trans foil is, nor where the two gatorboats are.
They may be just looking for targets or patrolling to make sure we don't get too close to infiltrating with our probes.

I'm going to Start a new thread 'Thoughts for New Game' in the open threads.
I have two reasons.
One, it looks like this game will end shortly.
Two, it may start to nudge DA and Gaia to move into pacting and tech trading with us.
I'm not sure if it will work.
Based upon what I see from the inaction of both, they either don't care much about the current game, have no clue as to the strength of Sparta, are currently Spartan pets, or are getting some very substantial things in return for not working with us.
