we don't have the technology for that.

They tried a system in San Diego area. They had to use special "marker"s on the road to try to identify it and such.

I would never trust a computer. In fact, I hate all the autmatic **** on cars today. I can turn on the headlights my own self, I don't need them to turn on autmatically. It's kind of hard to stalk someone with these safety features .

I'm a good and very careful driver. I'm not one of these morons that can't remember to turn their headlights on.

The answer you'll get is going to depend on which of those you choose.

If every American's life was worth 3 million dollars to the powers that be then you'd see universal socialised health care tomorrow in the US.

The rule is that a single American's life is priceless, especially if the media is paying attention. The per capita price of American lives goes down as the number you're trying to buy goes up.

By the time you get to 40 000 on an issue where there's no obvious fault (it's simply a numbers game of having enough cars on the road) you have to realise that an American's life is only worth 100000$ or so...

Hell, if we really wanted to reduce the number of auto fatalities and were willing to spend money like that we could drop the rate of drunk driving to near zero by providing a free chauffeur service for anybody who requested it. You call a number, a dude gets dropped off in front of the bar/house and he drives you home in your own car. You wake up in the morning with your car parked out front. Save 15000 a year right there.

Yes, I agree that the political human value market is a buyer's market.

Perhaps you should poll the voters on how much they are willing to spend to save their own skin, however.
