Everyone:
... and there's a massive winter storm forecasted to hit our area. This storm would bring with it heavy, wet snow, not the light, feathery stuff. It would go a ways toward replenishing the water levels, even though it's in the frozen form for the timebeing.
And what do I hear from some of my colleagues?!
"Oh, I don't want this storm to hit!"
"Damn, now it's going to be hard to get around."
Yadda, yadda, yadda.
Well, the idiots got their wish. The damn storm veered away from our area *entirely* — we didn't get a single flake of snow. Not one!
All I can do is shake my head. These damn fools didn't want the snow because it would inconvience *them.* Never mind the fact that, looking beyond the tip of one's own nose, you'd think they'd realize that the moisture — frozen or not — would have been a godsend for the area.
Y'know what really gets my goat? These are the same folks who, two months from now, will be pissing and moaning about why it's so dry out and "Where did all the moisture go?!" They'll also "feel sorry" for the farmers. Damn fools! You're the idiots who didn't want the moisture when we had a huge shot at getting it, all because it would've inconvienced you! God, their shortsightedness just infuriates me sometimes.

P.S. Since October 2004, we've had slightly more than 10 inches of snow. That's *way* below normal — we usually average around 24 inches through the end of March.
