Can anyone out there help me? I just purchased CivIII and installed it on a compaq laptop running windows XP professional.
When I start the program, my screen resolution changes, I get a movable cursor arrow, then everything disappears and the screen stays black.
Task manager informs me that the program is not responding.
What am I doing wrong?

Though if you could post a more detailed list of your laptop's hardware (processor speed, RAM, video card etc.) that might help those who can.
