I'm not sure, I think I'm a mix of Social Democrat, Centrist or American Liberal?

I believe in a relatively high tax rate to pay for decent public services (Social Democrat), the need for less regulation on employment, market forces used to a greater extent in government and far more liberal social policies (US Liberal) and as I have some leftist and some rightist beliefs, I tend to come out Centrist on most tests.

I don't like the political compass. It doesn't ask enough questions about actual policy. It usually puts me on the economic left by -5 to -7 depending on how strongly I disagree or agree with things. But that's because I have a generally negative view of corporations and think they need to be regulated and that the regulations should be enforced. I think the free market is the best economic system, it's just that there needs to be responsible and sensible rules. But if one were to believe the political compass, I'd be a socialist or borderline communist, and that just isn't reflective of my views.
