	A SMAC Test for Factions Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations: Deluxe Edition

I was just wondering, would it be a good idea to make a test that could somehow tell you what faction would be the best for you, either by playing style or by idealogy? It's just an interesting thought...

Yeah I know. It's the first official SMAC site, no longer supported of course. But as livid imp says, you can guess your results yourself.

True, but of course, for SMAC veterans I doubt you can invent any question where they don't know what faction it would result in.

what faction is the best for me? I don't need a test to tell me what I am.

Most survey show me as a democrat with little socialist leanings. But I consider myself a centrist who supports the environment.

And I enjoy playing the peacekeepers the most. Imagine that. . Of course I also like playing them for the double votes in elections .

I can play free market style, but I don't prefer to. I usually like playing green- even though this hampers my gameplay.

You'd think the gaians would be good, but they are pansies. Even though I support the environment, I like a strong advanced military. Again the peacekeepers fit this bill. Planet cult is just as bad as the gaians. I hate them.

Drones and Hive are too extreme for my ideology. Though it is fun playing with the industry bonus of the drones. I hate the hive.

Pirates. meh. I don't like sea bases much. Yeah I used to be in the U.S. Navy, but navy in smac isn't as exciting.

Believers? yeah right.

Spartans. Too warlike. I love strong militaries as I said. But I'm more defensive in nature.

Data Angels? I'm not much of a computer hacker.

Cybernetci conciousness? too much technology. Same with University. I like decent technology, but a balance must be made.

Peacekeepers is just the best fit for me.

Me? I like building things and in SMAC's case, terraforming... The natural faction for me is the Agrians (with a few changes) from the Network Node

Gaians for me. Freedom-loving tree-huggers with pacifist tendencies? Heck yeah.

On the other hand, the Data Angel's relaxed attitude really speaks to me as well - as does the cold rationality of the Consciousness.
