My mistake.

It's just the impression I got from regimental histories, like the QOR (Queen's Own Rifles). My grandfather gave all the boys his old regiments history because it was commissioned by them for them and has a lot of funny stuff.

I'm not saying he wasn't a hero, I'm just saying that I thought in earlier days he might have recieved one of the lesser decorations for valour.

Yes. They objected to stopping their tanks. But they fixed that later by running him over as soon as the cameras were turned off.
