I'm looking at the demographics of this whole campagn, and I should mention I'm exit only. I'm throwing my mitre into the ring- after all, I was brought up Roman Catholic and have a cousin in the Irish church's hierarchy, so I can count on some Murphia influence in the Conclave.


I'd bring in a suitable sculptor, and have a new staue of David commissioned- modelled after Aiden Shaw or Thom Barron, as I feel Donatello's and Michelangelo's, whilst perfectly acceptable, are a bit on the diminutive side, genitally.


Then I'd sell off all the Vatican's loot, carefully, so as not to flood the market with Classical, Mediaeval, Renaissance and Baroque masterpieces. The Sistine Chapel would be used as a homeless shelter at night, and a part time soup kitchen and counselling centre for drug addicts and prostitutes.

The money raised from selling off the church silver would go towards funding real change and action on poverty in the Third World- and for family planning clinics and research into finding a cure or better treatment for H.I.V. and A.I.D.S. and malaria .


All bishops, archbishops and cardinals would have to surrender any jewellery and give up cars in favour of bicycles. All members of the Vatican hierarchy would have to work on a rota system, with every other year spent tending to the sick and poor.

Priests could get married, and women could become priests. No more kiddy fiddling, and no more hiding kiddy fiddlers and ex-Nazis and no more financial shenanigans with Masonic lodges or the Mafia. And no more alliances with Islamic despotic regimes in the U.N. on social issues relating to Africa.
