	Gaming Terminology Suffering from ads?

It is a little known fact, but in conversation FG Development King Jamski pronounces pwned as pawned, not owned.

Discuss. Preferably with reference to other gaming terminology.

DrSpike is not taking account of the fact that I pronounce the word "dome" (as in St Peter's) as "doorme" because I am so well educated in English

I pronouce "brb" (be right back) as "brurrb". I have also said "for SCIENCE" in a real life conversation. I have practised saying it so you can hear the capitalisation.

I've never understood what it reallystands for(well, I do of course understand the meaning), but I've always pronounced it powned.

i not only pronounce it as pawned, I spell it as pawned. Anything else, and the leet speakers (not to be confused with JVC speakers, or my dear departed Magnaplanars) have won. And the end of civilization (not to say civilisation) is near.

Hmm, I quite like the idea of "correcting" pwn into pawn. Pawned! It's proper English and makes remotely sense, which does make it a poor gaming term.

It's a deliberate typo, if that's not an oxymoron, intending to mock excitable kiddies who accidentally write pwned instead of owned. This is of course why it should be said owned not pawned or powned.

I always thought it was "P3ned" or even better "P3/\/ed" pronounced "Pwneed" as in "owned".
