	Civ 4 Release Date June 1/ 2005-- True??? Enter the AD-FREE zone

Hey in Ebgames website and in the store it says that the release date is June 1/2005. I bet it its wrong, but any thouhgts or info on this?

I thought June was an April Fools joke posted at CivFanatics. Soren posted to that thread and it sure sounded like he confirmed that it was not true.

I guarantee you it's not true. (What? They're gonna release without a PR campaign to mention? They want Civ4 to be an utter commercial failure?)

When it comes to release dates, never believe what a shop says anyway. I've seen one shop say the game would be released in March 2005 (this was in January) Publisher and developer are the only ones who can say anything meaningful about a release date. Everyone else, unless quoting aforementioned parties, is full of it...

i called ebgames, and actually went to the store, and also did a $5 dollar deposite on the game (just so i have a reason to yell at them, and maybe get it for free). Also what they said is that they got the release date from the publisher of the game. I think he was just saying that to get me off the phone.

Definitely no June release. The official Firaxis site isn't even up yet, and if the PR campaign hasn't really started, they can't release in two months.

I hope they take there time on Civ4 and release something that will have the same impact of Civilization 2.
Look at how many mods were made and time devoted to that game.
I checked on the release date in a game store and they said that it was June. But they have been wrong more than one time.
