Apolyton Civilization Site ( http://apolyton.net ) [ACS], one the premiere online fansites for the Civilization computer strategy gaming series and its extended family, is today announcing its formal intention to cover the fourth incarnation of the Civilization series. From developer Firaxis Games and publisher 2K Games, a division of Take-Two Entertainment, comes Civilization IV with an anticipated release this coming winter. It is to be covered in full on ACS as are any and all expansion packs that may follow. News items for the up-and-coming title are currently housed in the ‘Miscellaneous’ section of the site, and will continue to be so until a complete section for CivIV is compiled and online.
"It is the long-standing endurance and superior reputation of the Civilization series that keeps us going", says ACS Co-Owner/Administrator Daniel “DanQ” Quick. "Almost seven years ago ACS was formed to better serve the growing Civ community online. Since then the strength of this community has permitted us the opportunities and resources to expand our quality coverage to closely related turn-based and even real-time strategy series. There has never been any doubt in our mind that should CivIV go into development, we would cover it too. We are pleased that our commitment can be realized".
ACS’ original coverage was limited to Civilization, Civilization II, and Civilization: Call to Power back when it officially launched in July of 1998. Since then, Apolyton has added coverage to Civilization III, Call to Power II, Alpha Centauri, Master of Orion III, the Galactic Civilizations series, Rise of Nations, the now-defunct Dinosaurs endeavour and numerous so-called ‘Alternative Civs’ most notably Freeciv.

Perhaps they should use the smax engine and just fix the bugs.

I think it can and may well be neither late nor crap. But what we should do is lock them up until the end of November with Civ2, Civ3, Colonization, Axis and Allies, Lord of the Rings, a manyvolume encyclopedia of world history, and access to our Civ4 forum, the CFC Civ4 forum, the CivWiki, and the Civ3 list. Maybe throw in a time machine somewhere too. They might need some food too. Maybe toss in the Dune strategy games. They can spend some of the time playing Risk and Chess too.

But surely such an "important" forum bot would write in a personal way to cover up the fact that he is a forum bot?
It's good to know that cIV has been noticed to be Civilisation.
