With Temujin, though, it fits. He's out there with his troops, leading the nomad's lifestyle and taking an active part in campaigns. He's SUPPOSED to look the worse for wear. Catherine has no excuse (except maybe the legendary horse... ). Imagine the horror that an offspring of the two would be.

Theodora = hottest.

Lowest achiever = Cleopatra. Wasn't she supposed to be smokin' hot? Like Ra, the sun god, hot? Something is not right there... if she would just take a little care in her appearance, it would go a long way.

Temujin = ugliest. But as Solomwi says, we wouldn't want it any other way. He's a man's man. Guaranteed he's banged more leaderhead than any other leader out there....well, Joan of Arc in the buzzcut & "armee" t-shirt, might compete there. Nice and butch.

Ugliest leader female Britian any time period. Russia is just homely and plain Britian is a battle axe.

We should all be thankful they put reasonably realistic depictions of leaders instead of putting hot blonde chicks with lots of cleavage in for the leaders.

Many other games use sex to sell their games. At least this one doesn't.

My latest epic game, I found myself next to the Byzantines (first time they've ever randomly shown up in one of my games). Normally, my first order of business is to purify my home continent. It was mainly because they remained useful the whole game, constantly buying techs from me to the point where I'd be raking in 1000+ gpt just from them. They also never minded allying with me in my bloodthirsty conquests and, another first for an AI, made their military presence useful, too! I should mention here that this was an AU Mod game, which I'm sure had a lot to do with any AI making themselves that useful as a client state. Anyway, my long, rambling point is that it did occur to me a few times that I might be keeping them around for that half-drunk smitten look Theodora gives you when you're on good terms. I think it was the cash, though.

Temujun is definitely the worst looking, but it's okay, because he owns anyways.

Theodora is definitely the prettiest, but in most games the Byzantines do something that really pisses me off and I go to war with them. She looks hilarious when shes mad at you, like shes about to start crying. Don't know why I get a kick out of that...

About Cleopatra being hot, it all depends on which one you are talking about. From what I understand, the Cleopatra most people know(the one from Julius Cesaer's time) was supposed to be super-hot. That's why they got a YOUNG Elizabeth Taylor to play her.

Abu Bakr is the ugliest. He looks starved, he clearly doesnt brush his teeth, and he doesnt trim his beard.

Theodora is definetly the best looking. Though Bismark gives her some close competition.

Temujin is the ugliest by a long shot, but that is probably intended, considering his role in history.

The only one, who looks like a real statesperson, is modern age Bismarck. Perhaps modern age Elizabeth too, but all others look like dorks.

There's no question that Temujin is the worst. I hate contacting the Mongolians because I'm forced to look him Ragnar's wild beard isn't all that nice, either. My vote for "prettiest" goes to medieval Isabella.

here's another which is probably easier for us modern folk to comprehend

you may disagree, but my overall impression is of a good, sensible greek girl. intelligent and scholarly, by no means unattractive, but certainly no supermodel.

some of the reasons for her rep as super-hot
1) she was a queen and a pharaoh, played around with two of the most powerful men in the civilised world. as a pharaoh, she was considered an embodiment of the goddes isis. according to legend, she first appeared to mark-antony in the guise of aphrodite. now, i can't say aphro' is one of my faves, but she has been known to send the occasional male somewhat ga-ga
2) arriving in rome with caesar at the height of his popularity, her egyptian style had a strong influence on the fashions of the time.
3)when cleopatra’s egypt was conquered by rome in 30 bc, its riches were plundered and taken back to rome. her fortune was so great, the influx caused an instant drop in rome’s interest rate, from twelve to four percent.
