How to Win At WW II Pacific Increase Your PM Length

The first thing in this one is whatever govt your in, stick with it. It's not going to be worth the anarchy to change.

Unless playing the Japense or USA, I would also strongly sugest mobilizing for war on turn 1. On a high enough difficulty level, it may be neccessary to mobilize even for those nations. In any case if your playing an ally and start felling overwhelmed mobilize and if playing Japan and your attacka start stalling, mobilize.

Playing any of the allys sign an ROP right away and trade for missing luxaries. And be sure to trade techs whenever possible, not being afraid to give your allies too good a deal.

As China: Don't bother building anything except the best defensive Inf and Tanks. First worry about stopping the Jap invansion. Won't take long against the AI. Then start pushing them back. If you kick the Japs completely out of Asia prior to the game ending (a distinct possibly) I wouldn't worry about trying to conquer islands, and would just keep hiting return until VP limit reached. On research, just reserach techs improving Tanks.

As England: The focus should primarly be on ships, particlarly anything that disrupts Jap ship invasions. This focus includes ship related techs.

As the US: There are remote islands that would never build anything in the scope of the game unless cash rushed, so set them to wealth. The US mainland could use some workers. San Francisco could use a factory. Island hop over any Japense stranded outpost that isn't a VP location. Perhaps bee line to Nuclear Weapons since you have a non-tradable tech edge towards it and trade for other techs.

As Japan: Go for the VP locations as quickly as possible, but use approative level focus. Don't spread yourself too thin on the attacks, but also don't send too many troops against too small a target. Time is not on your side. As for techs, your going to have to research each and every one yourself unless you build the spy agency and start stealing them. Also, if you find yourself in possesion of islands that can't produce anything without rushing, set to wealth. (Unfortunately, the best way for Japan to have won WW II is precluded since your in a locked war with the US, but forunately, your only going up against AIs. Best way for Japan to have won is in fact to leave the US alone in it's isolation and sneak attack the USSR instead.)

As the Dutch: The only way to do this is to mod the scenerio. As to how to play them, mobilize for war for turn 1, and mostly build defenders, but include some offensive units for counter attacks / preemptive ones. And hope the AIs playing your allies perform better than the Japense AI.

One thing on Japan. I wouldn't worry about getting spread too thin on the first turn. There are very few spots where the Allies can mount any counter-attack that early. Think about your movement points carefully to capture as many VP locations as possible on the first turn. After the first turn, definitely make sure you aren't stretched too thin, but overall, keep in mind the Allies' relatively weak position at the start. One potential counterattack route for the Commonwealth is Rangoon, though all you're looking at is 3-5 Anzacs, and they can't get to a city until turn 3 at the earliest. The Manchurian cities make nice worker pumps, too, and can pretty much feed your mainland empire's worker needs by themselves.

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization 2

For the US: besides just setting all those islands to wealth, many of them have enough land for an airfield. Build one and then build workers to send back to the mainland.

IMHO, US is the most frustrating civ to play since the production centers are so far from the action.

Full PM-box? Change here!

Yeah, but at least the Vikings are close to the Christian civs. You get to spend the first part of the game beating the tar out of 'em (and the relics).
