tee hee - yes that's the obvious explanation - loved the ringed by troops part

But I also wondered if there was some particular benefit that deity has identified to sending all your trade to one city in another civ?

I can say that sending trade to a deitician city is always a gyp because deity is the only player I know who ratchets down trade in his city to reduce your cash payout.

There isn't any benefit, financially, unless the city is always demanding what he has to offer. And, with the city so close, he would lose out, financially, on the distance factor in the trade equation. He's usually after science points, anyway. I have no idea whether the demand and distance factors impact on the science gain.

Put an end to popups!

1) Rymney is consistently demanding Hides and many of my cities are consistently producing it.

2) It's close - just a paddle away but on another landmass. Lots of quick 150 golds is just right.

3) Too dangerous and time consuming to get to Trev's main civ but I will in due course

Horse's route Got spare money?

BTW, this is the route taken by the Horse Armada on it's way to kill Trevriffic

I'm certain it was intended for me but my strategy of blocking all one movement landing spots caused, errr, a change of plan; and sudden justifications about a pre-text for war against the Celts based on pre-historic border issues

My troops can walk and chew gum - or explore and fight- at the same time - I got 6 cities off trev in 1 turn and a sh*tload of techs off you on the way through because you had no mil techs and thought I was going to invade.

Why would I give you mil techs if I intended to invade you?

I'd say that would have to be one of the most successful civ trireme fleet voyages ever. Certainly it was for me - a perfect illustration of naval power.

After your tri's went round in circles for a few 100 years it was obvious that attacking me was futile so you traded 6 techs, yes..

I think me attacking Horse last night was completely logical in game terms.

Firstly, Horse had more cities and units than Trev's and my civ combined;
Secondly, Horse is the world aggressor and clearly had planned to attack me earlier on without cause;
Thirdly, if Horse wiped out Trev without anyone intervening he would then attack me anyway.

Surely you can't say I'm not allowed to attack Horse at all in this game?

Note that I revolted, rather than forming an alliance with Trev, so that I could attack Horse.

I think the game is much more tactically and strategically interesting now and I'm sure Horse can appreciate the military challenge

I got upset once when three civs co-operated against me in another game but I got over it

It's pure fun! And coming from behind is a real buzz.

Can we play tonight?
