True. But I think there is some connection between the Pentecostals and the charismatic Catholics. I keep seeing protestants, or former protestants having that influence on the Catholic church.

One case of that was a seminar on spiritual gifts I attended, designed by a protestant convert for Catholics. That was an interesting conference for me, since I could see the patterns of thought that were familiar.

Well, as stated, I don't know that the charismatic movement is still alive in the the catholic church in any numbers. Of course, that doesn't mean that catholics don't take such ideas "on board," considering that the gift of tongues has solid grounding within the early church. On the other hand, the novelty of the ideas for most catholics earned a healthy amount of suspicion of charismatics.
