	Apolyton chat IRC Increase the size of your Attachments

anyone know how to get this thing going?

Yes I know there are FAQ's and instructions how to do it, I've followed them.

I actually installed irc for other reasons, but I figured since I got it, I'll get onto the apolyton chat server which doesn't seem to be working.

I can connect to other servers (but some I have problems with), but not apolyton.net.

Here's the message I get:

apolyton.net- ***looking up your hostname...
apolyton.net- ***Found your hostname, cached
apolyton.net- ***Checking Ident

and that's all it does, it never comes up. I'm pretty much a novice with irc, so I don't know if it's something I'm doing or a problem with Apolyton.

Hmmm, now it works. I used a different email (not a valid one). I guess the email must have @apolyton.net ?

I left myself logged on all day long while I was at work (though I think zone alarm shut down internet access when my screen saver kicked on). I didn't see one post.

The chat doesn't work for me either (or at least not last time I tried)
Everytime I'm in there it goes a few minutes then I'm disconnected from the server
I didn't say anything that should get me banned... I didn't say anything at all... I guess that server just hates me

there have been times in the past when the server would reset every 20 minutes. Back then there were actually people using the #apolyton room, and we'd all try to be the last one to post before we all got kicked off.

The IRC server of Poly has some severe issues. It disconnects users frequently and the IRCd is flaky as hell. Seems to crash like 1-2 years back. Not like the place works stable. No guesses about what the problem could be. I'd certainly look for alternative solutions. Maybe switch IRCd or drop it all together.

When I click on the "2 people in the chat room: Dissident, Octavian_away," link at the top of a forum page I go the following page. Is that intended?

Its the new version of the chat. People just post random filenames, times and sizes.

The same list occurs for me too.

I believe you should post that in the Settler 3 bug thread. Obviously Settler 3 is not set to use index.shtml as default pages.

(And the fact that irc isn't installed yet (I believe) doesn't help)
