so you are saying people work a job they don't like because they want to make money so they aren't poor? That can be said of a lot of people.

Being poor isn't the end of the world. I grew up poor and I turned out okay. Okay, bad example. But you get my point.

Yes.

But I suggest that prostitution is not somebody should ever have to do because of poverty, and legalizing it so that poor women can become legal prostitutes is almost uncivilized.

Women are exploited for sex. What most of them really would like is to have what we would call "romance." They also want to have families.

Also, most women don't like their husbands having mistresses and going with whores. It is not more enlightened to have a society where such things are considered "normal."

Well, try this Pekka. Have an affair with a married woman. If it is only for sex, you will not mind that she is married. If you love the woman, it will kill you that she is married.

The thing is, most woman almost never have affairs just for sex. They actually fall in love.

But there do seem to be some women who are so attracted to money that they become mistresses just for that, knowing or believing that they have no chance to marry that kind of wealth.

Sex slavery is an abomination and I wish we could hunt down the pimps and send them away for a very long time. It goes on everywhere. I remember in Halifax Canada there were a number of stories about 16 year old girls disappearing. Apparently the pimp/trafficker would target girls at halfway/houses or find runaways and pump them full of drugs. next thing the girl knows she is disoriented, strung out and standing on a street corner in 5" heels in some city she doesn't recognize.

They apaprently were kept so screwed up on dope that doing something logical like flagging down that passing police car just doesn't occurr to them.

Thats what I dislike about prostitution . . . the fact that force and intimidation plays such a big part of it.

On the morale level, if a woman wants to give sex for money of the own free will, I have no objection to that. I think its possoble that some of the higher end escorts do just that and make a very good living

I don't think that women have changed all that much but what has changed is the societal message about fidelity and sex. Women expect a lot more than they once did and are much more open about meeting their own sexual needs.
