Human Interface Device Inflate your Upload Space

I bought a new mouse yesterday (Logitech xm510) and upon booting up, instead of a message about a mouse being detected, the message was that a "Human Interface Device" was detected.

No I don't know how others feel about this, but I'm quite offended. Pardon me, but "I" operate the computer, it does not operate me through a Human Interface Device.

Oh no, I've been off that for a few years now.

But I occasionally have to do some late night maintenance now and then.

Specifically, it's a device a computer uses to operate a human. Examples being keyboards, monitors and mice.

You could always write "computer interface device" on the back of your mouse hand I suppose ...

I also notice today that, when I installed Windows XP Home on somebody's computer, the setup program loaded something called "Human Interface Parser."

At least we can take some comfort knowing that computers still regard us as human.

It could get to the point when it would start saying Critical Operation Hazard Interface or something. But maybe it's just being PC about it.
