Hello,

First, I'm a beginner and have never created a new PBEM game before, let alone created any map on my own.
I was thinking of letting the game create a map for me, either through own selection or through random mode. Or maybe play one of the scenarios following the game.

What do you say?

your initial post shows you have 5 players already and mentioned none of this beginner thing

so who are the players?

and as to setup, that is very easy to do. I recommend you go into the game and try setting a few games up to get an idea on how it all works

If there's a space left I'd like to join. To have the game move along at a steady pace it's best to organize the turn order by timezones going from east to west. I'm GMT+1. My prefs are random. Suprise me with a civ.

If any of the newcomers are interested in joining a team-PBEM game, the C3CDG: Eve of Destruction is good value. 4 teams don't have too many members, so there're plenty of opportunities.

About GMT thing, some people (like me) have weird time to play... i can only play turns after my local midnight... (-03:00) GMT....could somebody list all the players and the timezone of each one?

ahh my usual game time is 05:11 GMT to 04:59 GMT

Hi everyone,

These are the players that are interested in joining the game:

Charles_Bronson: GMT -3, can play at midnight local time

Chug74: GMT -4 and can play at night local time but only once a week

MFCamillus: GMT -8, can play 1230-1400 GMT M-F and sometimes in the AM on Sat/Sun

self biased: Hasn't said a word about when he can play or what his GMT is

Snoppy369: The same as self biased

Paddy the Scot: 12 minutes playing time! 05:11 GMT to 04:59 GMT

Beta: No GMT or playing time on him


I don't there will be a problem starting the game.
All I want to know is which type of game people want to play, standard or another?
And if there are any other wishes other from which nation people want to play?

Please let me know or soon as possible.
I was thinking of a standard game and that's it.

Paddy implied he did NOT play for 12 minutes a day, which is not as unrealistic as it seems at first sight.

I would also like to join.

We can set up this game with time slots so a turn is played every day. If a player is absent he should find a sub to play his turns for the duration of his absence. The time slots need not be equal. I can play any time, just not from 17 - 21 GMT+1.

Standart game would be fine. Time slots? That´s very complicated. I can only play 2-4 turns a week, and not everyday (sometimes i need sleep).

Also, standart map sizes are OK for me. What will be the difficulty level? CPU civs in there?

Someone refresh my memory about how many players a PBEM game can have? For some reason I thought eight. If I'm right, you guys are a bit over.

If I'm wrong, you are in for one slow moving game.

Eight is the max.

I am in GMT-5 (edt) (maybe it is gmt-4 now - why do we change time anyway. It was supposed to be for the farmers I thought, but if they got up with the sun, who cares what time it is.)

And - I can play from about 17:00pm to 23:00pm, which puts me at 22:00 GMT to 03:00 GMT if I have it correct.

Also - if others are dying to get into the game, I can step aside. I have lots on the go.

aren't the times backward for only twelve minutes? shouldn't it be [04:59 GMT] to [05:11 GMT]? unless time runs backwards over there.

i'll take japan. preferably regent or higher difficulty.

my availability is generally 11pm eastern, though depending on my schedule it may be earlier or later.

Since there are so many interested I will divide the players in two games.
The rest of the slots I will fill with AI.
Or maybe, if people want to, we can all fit into one game?

I'm in school now so I can't decide which map the games will be played on since I'm not sure of the configurations but I will let you know this evening.
All I'm sure of is that it probably will be a continents map.
The game difficulty will be high, how about "Demigod" or "Siv"?
Raging barbarians?
I will randomly divide the players between the two games unless there are any specific wishes.

not sure how you will do 5 players and 5 ai old chap, only 8 positions are available.

I take Beta's lead on this and step back

this allows for you to have 8 human players, and a good game for all

Don't wanna be a pain, but if I wanna play against the AI, I start-up a SP. No worries however, just make it the game you like. You're the game initiator and you should have it the way you want it... Just count me out if you do, no offense taken at all.
