Two contracts, really. One for a few days, auditting a website to make sure it's acessable to people with disablities. Another mutlimonth contract with The Discovery Channel creating templates for a report form generated in HTML. Nothing spectacular, but putting The Discovery Channel on my resume (along with Johnson & Johnson and Citicorp) don't look to shabby.

The blind, deaf, and cognitively disabled all use the web too, you know, as well as people with epilepsy.

The Federal government requires that all Federal websites meet a set of regulations know as the 508 standards. A lot of older people do have trouble with the web. Web accessibility applies to them too. Simplicity is the most important thing. Too many choices or too much activity on the page makes it harder for the elderly and other people who's minds aren't as sharp as Kuci's to use websites.

Course, I don't know how you could get much simpler than google.

I had a classmate who, when introduced to search engines in computer lessons, would actually enter a whole question int othe search tab rather than one search term.

it ended up like "please show me something about blabla" in the search term tab

You and bunnygrrl are hitched, now, right?

Seriously, you have a very good opportunity to make a shitload of money at this for years and years and years as an SDB contractor to the Feds on Schedule 70 (GSA IT schedule) and as an 8a SDB contractor. If you live and work in a shithole area of town or in the boonies, you can possibly hit the Federal pork barrel Trifecta by also qualifying as a HUBZone SDB.

If you don't mind sponging off the American taxpayer, PM me, and after I get back in town Monday, I can help you with the whole process of getting set up to contract with the Feds and market 508 compliance services.
