How're you all doing? Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Curious for where it would lead me, I typed "Aidun" in google and started searching for references to my person. One of those was to a reply of mime here at Poly. I've been surfing through the history of the C3DG, reading my first post in that game. Then I got curious about what happened to the ISDGs. It seems that the first one has ended, but not in an in-game victory for us.

Now I've come to take a look here, how you are doing?

I can't remember how long a go I left, but I've missed more than a year I think.

Suffering from ads?

We just finished the first round and are getting discussions going to get us ready for the "main" event.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

The game ended after we made a three-way coallition with the other two big teams. CDG played in the last 40 turns with one city or with one settler. GWT (the Germans) decided to concede after we declared our alliance in this allowed us to move to the next round.

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

The ISDG ended with a great deal of frustration as it appeared that GWT was predicting every move we were making. With GWT shear size compared to us, they were voted the winner. All it got them though was eliminated in this game

Nor an out-game one for that matter

Still, wasn't our fault completely.

We had to deal with a crappy start, an inept ally (CGN) and of course... Lucky.

Great to hear you're doing fine.

Perhaps I'lldrop by in from time to time, but I'm not planning for some permanent return. I'm happy with my kingdom in the C3C DG on MZO and my study doesn't allow for more involvement in DGs at the moment.

For if I don't drop by before you start with the second part: success in advance!

Cya some day.

Yeah, most of the time the references are to him, but occasionally, you woul be linked to this Aidun. My studies are, however, also going quite well: from August to December I will be living near Sacramento, California, as an exchange student, studying at UC Davis.

I think I'll take a look around here about how you guys are doing.

My girlfriend lives 20 minutes from UC Davis. We go to Davis to eat at a place called "Sophia's" all the time (it's her favorite). They make great Thai food.

Be prepared to see a bunch of hippie like people running around. Dredlocks, no deodorant, natural fiber clothes and the like. Overall, it's a nice little town.

Also be prepared to buy a bicycle. The campus is quite large and that's the standard way to get around...or else walk a lot.

I'll probably do. In Leiden here, I don't have a bike, it's at mt parent's place and too expensive to use in Leiden. Bikes are kind of "shared" over here if you know what I mean. I walk but quite fast. Nevertheless, a bike is useful.

What I am but wondering about is what I should do in the Country of the Car when I can't drive at this moment; or: how necessary is a car for a student like me. And how expensive is driving, because fuel is almost unaffordable for a student here.

some places are better than others, when it comes to the amount of alternate transportation that is available to you.

Atleast, yiour going to a school that has a very large Campus residence population. If you were to go to someplace like Univ of Central Florida, where the majority of the students have to commute (and find parking), then you might have a problem.

In Davis you don't need a car if you have a bike. The campus is close to the downtown area. You only need a car if you plan to go outside of Davis.
